Not their best :/ but LOVE the Ultra Dark!

I've been a die-hard Loving Tan girl for about a year now. I started with Dark, went to Ultra Dark, and then saw the new Platinum. I obviously HAD to try it. For background information, I have very pale, cool-toned skin. I really love both the Dark and Ultra Dark formulas from Loving Tan. Both have ...a true olive undertone - which you can clearly see if you let a small drop of self tanner dry on a piece of toilet paper or even in the cap (the color left behind is not tan, but rather a dark green color). Both of those formulas develop excellently on my skin, dry quickly, and give me an even color that lasts for about 4-5 days when moisturizing religiously 2x per day (1x when I wake up and 1x after my evening shower). The Ultra Dark is obviously darker than the Dark, but not dramatically so. Moving onto Platinum....overall, I am really disappointed in this formula. I appreciate Loving Tan trying to get darker than Ultra Dark, but this was such a miss for me. To start - the bottle claims an olive undertone, but this stuff is NOT olive. It is much rather a dark red, orange undertone which does not suit my cool undertones whatsoever. When I was applying the tan, I noticed the formula took FOREVER to dry. It felt wet/sticky on my skin, even after 15 minutes of standing naked underneath my ceiling fan and my AC on. With Dark and Ultra Dark, both tanners dried super quickly, in about 1 minute, 2 minutes completely. With platinum, I'm almost scared to put on my tanning outfit to wear to bed (I tan overnight) because of the length of time needed until it feels like it's dry. When I shower off the Platinum the next morning, it felt like a ton of the tan came off with the water. Not only that, it was SO splotchy. My chest did not take the tan at all, and even in the upper body areas that it did, it looked straight up orange. My legs typically looked fine, but did not feel dark at all. This color simply just is not platinum. It's a dark orange that fails to develop like the Dark and Ultra Dark. The color also took a long time to develop. I noticed I still felt pale, especially on my upper body, as if I hadn't applied self tanner at all! I often found myself reapplying the next night in areas like my chest, arms (places that didn't take the tan well) and the next morning I FINALLY had a *hint* of "platinum" (still not dark whatsoever, just basic tan). The tan also fades very unevenly, presumably due to the density of red/orange pigment used to achieve the "platinum" status. Overall: very disappointed with Platinum, but still a HUGE Loving Tan fan! Which explains the 2 stars. You're better off buying Dark or Ultra Dark, which develop nicely, dry quickly, gradually develop evenly, and have true olive undertones. Also, they're less expensive than Platinum!
