Seriously. I'm not the type to usually "buy into the hype" surrounding whatever latest skincare gadget that comes along tends to promise with frivolous abandon. However, I had already taken the plunge with the original UFO - after a difficult phase in my life - as something of a personal "treat" to myself, and *LOVED* it. That alone was such an innovative, "glow up" gift of a product, I was eager to test out all the new functions, such as the veritable rainbow of LED Lights and all their various functions. I also have been a longtime fan of Foreo's Luna face washing/massaging brushes, so I wasn't concerned regarding quality or the potential for false or overly embellished claims that couldn't be delivered by the product.
I'm 39, and *VERY* fair with a tendency towards dry skin - but with daily use of my UFO/now UFO2 (every morning and night, with the additional"specialty" mask - usually daily, bc I'm a sucker for this stuff - for a boost in whatever is ailing my skin at the time - usually moisture, and ai love the eye mask, but you can't go wrong, imo) my skin was not only visibly more dewy, glowy, and even-toned - but it felt so much more supple and deeply moisturized to the touch. I could tell several layers of the dermis had/have been penetrated, it's not just a superficial or quick "illusion" - both the UFO/UFO2 are the REAL DEAL! And SO gently yet thoroughly exfoliated - oh my! SUPER smooth to the touch - no rough patches, just unbelievably silky. I could tell several layers of the dermis had been penetrated.
Anyway, re: the UFO 2, specifically. Obviously, I've only had it for approximately 2 weeks - that said, it IS "all that and then some"! My Luna Fofo has even noted the change. From the day I received my UFO2 to this morning, my skin has gone up a level in moisture and had 2 years deducted off of my "skin age" statistics. Cool!
I most love the updated and super-customizable rainbow of LED light features. Thus far, I've noticed certain ones have already become incorporated into particular mask's preset "routines" (such as Violet, a mix of Red's penetrative abilities with Blue's bacteria-killing strength), etc... However, I've taken note of what each color's specific function is, and created my own "routine":
I put whichever mask I choose to use on, as instructed, and follow the app's set 90 second/2 minute visually and aurally dictated runthrough for it. Then, as the routine draws to a close, I squeeze out whatever amount of serum is left in the packet (usually an ample amount) and go to "settings". Since I have typical "Irish/English" skin, ie. ultra-fair and super sun sensitive (which has been an issue, as I live currently in a country close to the equator), my skin has accumulated significant sun damage, a less even tone, increased freckles, and consistent dryness. So, I tend to use the Yellow, Orange, and/or Green LED options (which focus on, specifically, sun damage - yay!, healing, rosacea, and even skintone), paired with a light vibration (usually +3 or +4) and the "Cool" option - which feels *ah-may-zing*!!!
It may seem pricey, and I understand that factor - but I know this product will reduce the amount of costly facials I otherwise would have attempted to receive in the future. It's like being your *own* facialist, seriously! The OG UFO is already a spectacular investment, but especially of you want to experiment with UFO2-specific features, like the staggering array of LED options and/or the soothing Cryo options, the UFO2 has already more than proved its value to me - it has been worth *EVERY* penny! It's only a few minutes a day, and I bought each of the masks to test them all out (except the Caviar one - maybe one day for a future treat, lol) - and you *literally* cannot go wrong!
Also, the UFO2 has a "find me" feature, if you're a tad spacey like me at times and tend to misplace things - which is a bonus imo!
I'll post an unfiltered, sunlight only close-up picture of my mug, if possible (forgive the haircut/color, if it shows - it's quarantine time), bc I honestly do think I look pretty decent for a woman on the cusp of "the big 4-0" - and a strong skincare regime (and LOTS of SPF 50) has always been my main defence in the pursuit of aging gracefully - No botox or fillers for me, as of yet... And Foreo's products have consistently impressed me since their inception when I bought my first Luna.
Also, I just *feel* better. I sincerely look forward to my daily UFO2 sessions as precious and much needed "me" time where I can take a few minutes for self care and zone out from the insanity life often brings...
THANK YOU, FOREO!!!
Sorry for the novel, but I'm the last person to buy tons of toys and gadgets that I think are gimmicks. The UFO and UFO2 *ARE* the *REAL DEAL*!
If you're on the fence, give one a try - for yourself! It really is like being your own facialist, and it is a product I will forever endorse openly and enthusiastically. Thank you to Foreo!!!
Disappointing upgrade if you have a ufo mini 2
I bought ufo 2 after enjoying ufo mini 2 because of the cryotherapy. The temperature did not go down below 30c when using smart control after I have used a make my day treatment. In fact, the back of the device feels colder. I've tried asking customer service for exchange but I was told I'd have to shoulder the return shipment fees. So for a device of this cost, it's really not worth it. Unfortunately, I'm unable to attach a video but photo below is from the app after 1 minute of turning on for cooling, no lights activated, no pulsation.
Terrible product I've allergy used with a free serum.
I didn't see any results. And after few months of no using it completely stopped to work.
It Freaking HURTS
I got the mini Bear and lies omg it hurts so much. on setting 2. with their serum.
UFO2- love love love
I absolutely love my UFO2. I started w the UFO2 mini, but weirdly had issues with two of them (first what seemed like a problem w holding charge, and then what seemed like an issue w the heating element)- ultimately upgraded to the UFO2, and let me tell you: start w this one! Thankfully this one had no issues, but there's always a chance a device malfunctions and FOREO provide great customer service, so that's a not why I'm saying to just go for the UFO; the reason you should get the UFO, not the mini, is because the cold function is *amazing*!! I originally got the mini because I didn't think much of it, and why not save some $$, after all- it's the heat and vibrations that help get the product to sink in to your skin, and that's totally true- but finishing w cold is a total game changer! It closes up those pores again and gets you *the* softest, silkiest skin you have ever felt. The whole experience is amazing and luxe either way- but the cold just takes it up another notch, and leaves your skin amazingly supple and soft.
Getting a facial at home? Oh, yass!
I have the UFO 2 for about a month now, and I can positively declare that I am so pleased with it! The device connects very smoothly with the Foreo app - it is also possible to operate it offline, which is a huge plus - and It has a ton of features (I'm still exploring it!). You can even create customized treatments apart from the specialized ones provided for each of the Foreo masks. I feel I really treat myself every time I'm using it - and it leaves my skin glowy and smooth! Highly recommended!!
p.s.: the black color suits the device so well!
