The Perfect DIY Wax Kit I am Italian and suffer from the typical unwanted facial hair. After having the end of my eyebrow waxed off, barely to regrow again, I committed to my own waxing. I have owned the GiGi professional wax kit. I hated that it had to stay stationary in one place or risk spilling the wax all over the unit and surfaces it was on. I finally threw the Gigi kit away. Little did I know that shortly after, I would find myself in the middle of a pandemic in a state shut down for 3.5 months! This bad boy saved my life! I will never return back to traditional waxing kits. Wakse was easy to use, mess-free, easy to clean up, and less painful. A bonus was the pleasant scent of the wax beads and not using wax strips.
PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO BUY AN ACTUAL WARMER + WAX I have long, dark arm hair I wanted desperately to get rid of. I thought this would be a pain-free, easy solution. So many problems with this that I'll be returning it:
- NGL the smell and color are kind of nice
- THE wax took forever in the microwave to warm up, and it's 1200 W. Yes I bought/used the mug from Wakse. I didn't read the reviews about this breaking the microwave for other people, but now that I have I can totally see why it would.
- 5 MINUTES after I took it out of the microwave, I had to try and reheat it because the wax had gotten cold/solidified.
- WHEN I put it on my arm for application, it solidified super fast, so the application was horrible. It would even roll up on the stick, like maple syrup snow candy.
- UPON ripping it off, it would only pick up about 60% of the hairs (on average -- sometimes more than others, sometimes nothing at all!) and in all kinds of directions!
I compared this stuff to the pre-made wax strips I normally use, and the strips got rid of about 90% of the hair (compared them between arms). Really wanted to like it, but just can't bring myself to. Use your money for a legitimate wax warmer and better beads, if anything. Save your microwave too!

it gets way too hot in the microwave after fully microwaving. you have to use oven mitts or a towel but because the container is so flimsy wax will go everywhere if not careful.
To Hot to fast does not melt 1

The concept for this item is great! But it just doesn't work! The beads don't melt, and the container gets to hot. I can't grab it to stir the beads, ended up having to use oven mitts! Once I finally got the beads to melt, the wax didn't stay hot for long.
Loved it! 4

I decided to buy this b/c I wanted other alternatives when removing leg hair (shaving only lasts for a day and using nair gave me small chemical burns 🙁) I used only a bit of wax as a tester and it was difficult for the wax to melt properly. I recommend at least 2-3 minutes for the wax to completely melt. When taking the pot out, it gets pretty hot to hold after it's done heating. Since this is my first time waxing, it was difficult to properly get the wax and quickly applied it on my leg. My only problem is that the wax get dry after some time and I would have to reheat the pot. I think it's best to buy a wax warmer if you want the wax to stay liquid. Other than that, I'd say it really works well. I wax on a bit on my leg to see the results and the hair isn't growing as fast anymore, so I'm glad with that ☺️
Just go get yourself a warmer 2

I thought this would be a great alternative to buying a warmer and would save me money. I was wrong. Unless you only need 2-5 minutes of waxing, I do not recommend. It comes out too hot and gets cold too fast.
