To create the lived-in waves that everyone loves, divide your hair into vertical sections. Place a flat iron about midway along the section, holding the iron downward. Curl each section around the iron, simultaneously twisting the hair around the plates. At the end of each section, use the iron to straighten the ends for a true, lived-in vibe.
HOT TOOLS PRO TIP #2: The Chase Method
This trick produces ultra-sleek hair on coarse, curly textures. Start by dividing your hair into extremely fine sections. Place a fine-tooth comb at the scalp and slowly comb through the section.
