    Great for oily skin

I have super duper oily skin, suffer from cystic acne and often have makeup meltdowns halfway through the day. I've been using Laura Mercier (spelling???...oops) and I ran out. I usually use the Derma blend in one of the darker colors (I can't remember what it's called-Saffron, I believe)....My best...

    Darkened my concealer

For some reason or another, my under eye concealer would turn two shades darker as soon as I applied this setting powder. I tried it with different brands and kinds of concealer and the same thing happened. I know it sounds strange, but I think it happens because of an ingredient oxidizing upon appl...

This is one of the few powders I reorder. It is very effective at setting makeup, creates a beautiful finish & controls oil breakthrough very well!

    Change the formula back!

For the last several years, this was my holy grail. Now im forced to switch to Laura Mercier until they change back the formula. I don't understand why they would make such a horrible change. I truly hope the brand sees all the disappointed customers and gets the message.

    Changed the formula

I have been using this powder for years and I noticed immediately the latest one I bought didn't work at all. I thought it was a dud so I bought another one and same thing it looks grainy, cakey and it absolutely does not last.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

    The Original Formula Was Incredible

    Submitted 1 month ago

    By Parker

    From Beaverton, Oregon

For 5 solid years, this was the only setting powder I would buy. I didn't even mind the price tag because I knew I was getting a quality product. But for some reason, they've changed up the formula and it is seriously awful. I don't notice the smell so much, but it's a lot thicker and application is much more difficult. It's also noticeably thicker on the face, so makeup looks really cakey and feels SO dry. At the end of the day, my face used to look the exact same as it did when I first applied it, but now I've got under eye & smile line creases. It also doesn't last as long as it used to, and it's leaving a weird clumpy makeup residue on my kabuki brush and on the puff, like it's taking the makeup off my face and transferring it over & it never used to do that. Plus, as an already pale person, the new formula is definitely not "transparent". It's very white and a really slippery slope to ghost town if I'm not careful. I finished the jar today, but I won't be buying it anymore since now it feels like a waste of money. If they return to the original formula, I'll return to purchasing it.

    New formula is unusable

    Submitted 1 month ago

    By L

    From NY

I loved the original formula, had so many backups that I just opened a jar of the new formula a week ago. The new one is unusable. Smells awful, is somehow both too drying on the skin and not absorbing enough oil, irritiates my skin, looks thick and pasty, gets everywhere. The original formula did none of those things, it was soft and beautiful, mattified perfectly. Dermablend, please go back to the original! Until then, I'm looking elsewhere.
