I recently had the chance to try L'Interdit Absolu by Givenchy, which was released in 2024. This fragrance stands out with its Oriental Floral profile, mixing spicy, floral, and gourmand elements to create something quite distinct. From the initial spray, the fragrance presents a captivating blend o...f Guatemalan Cardamom, Lavender, and Neroli. The cardamom's warm spiciness immediately catches the nose, complemented by the fresh, aromatic lavender and a hint of citrus from the neroli. This combination creates a rich and intriguing opening, though it can feel a bit intense at first. As it develops, the heart of L'Interdit Absolu reveals itself with notes of Indian Tuberose, Orange Blossom, and Jasmine Sambac. The tuberose here has a fruity edge, reminiscent of cherry or strawberry. While this twist is interesting, it can come across as overly sweet when paired with the rum, which adds a boozy element. The Orange Blossom and Jasmine Sambac contribute a creamy, floral richness that blends well with the tuberose, creating a lush and indulgent midsection.
