if you want perfect hair, get this.

This is, hands down, the nicest flat iron I've ever used or owned. I bought this at the suggestion of my long-time hairdresser who told me I would not be disappointed with it, and he was absolutely right. I used a 20% off coupon when buying this, so that helped quite a bit with the price, but consid...ering the results, I would be just as happy paying full price. I bought this to replace my wigo, which supposedly went up to 400 degrees. I always had the wigo cranked as high as it would go, and it still left frizz and wave in my hair. I have fine hair, but it has quite a bit of curl, which combined with the thinness, always looked like frizz. I can usually only get smooth hair in the spring and fall, otherwise it's too dry or humid to deal with. I used this over a very humid, rainy weekend when I first purchased it, and it kept my hair smooth and silky all day. And I love that it doesn't take all the bounce out of my hair, since it is thin, usually getting it straight means it's limp. But not with this! I just used my usual heat protectant and mousse and finished the style with this iron, and I literally look like I just walked out of the salon. A coworker even asked me if I got a keratin treatment, which I have never tried, but my usually dull, red hair is nice and shiny now, thanks to this iron. I love the thin plates, I feel like I can really get all the way to the root of my hair. Also, unlike any iron I've ever used, I can actually use the lowest setting (which you're supposed to on fine hair) and get perfect, long lasting results without frying my hair on the highest heat. PLEASE BEWARE: This iron gets SUPER HOT on the highest setting. It didn't singe my hair or anything, but it was definitely way hotter than I needed on my fine locks. READ THE DIRECTIONS and try it on the lowest setting, working your way up to the highest that your hair needs! I've always needed the highest setting before and didn't think this iron would be any different, but this is a professional grade tool, and it's highest setting is truly meant for people with thick, course hair! Long story short, this is an amazing product. One thing to mention, though: the other reviews on this site say that it came with a gel mat to absorb heat. Mine did not have the mat included, and the box it comes in is not sealed - it has a magnet type mechanism to keep it shut, which is nice for reuse, but I suppose it's possible someone took the gel mat out of the box due to this type of packaging... I don't really need it, so I don't mind. But if you're getting this in store, you might want to check for this mat so you're not disappointed.
