Shake up the formula before using (really, shake it). Dispense 1-2 drops to finger. Dab on clean skin in areas prone to ingrown hairs, bumps, or uneven tone. For uneven tone, dispense additional drops onto finger and then smooth on in a thin, even layer. Can be applied to your arms, armpits, chest, beard and neckline area, or intimate areas - anywhere you remove hair. Only apply formula to skin externally, do not insert.

Definitely a niche product if you ask me. I don't believe a lot of people have ingrown hairs however I did want to use it on my armpits for the tone correcting element. My underarms are darker and I would also try it on my knees and elbows.

Kiehls brightening and color corrector products work really well on my skin so I was not surprised that this wouldn't work. TMI but I do use this on my armpits and area down there from ingrown hair. I saw results after a few weeks, but with these products you need to use it consistently. Love this formula because it was gentle.
It definitely gets the job done!

I have struggled with ingrown hairs for as long as I have been shaving. It seems like no matter what I do, I always wind up with lots of ingrowns that also tend to get really irritated. In the past, I have tried special razors, special shaving creams/gels, post-shave products, pre-shave products/exfoliating, etc. Although some of those things have helped reduce ingrown hairs for me, no product I have tried yet has been able to eliminate them entirely for me. This product really does seem to help clear up ingrown hairs more quickly for me than others I have tried, and I have also noticed an overall reduction in the development of new ingrown hairs after shaving, which is a huge plus. The only thing I will say is that I do find that it can be difficult to dispense and apply the product. I find it can be tricky to shake the bottle and then pull up and dispense the product with the dropper fast enough before the liquids separate again, due to the fact that it separates so quickly. This makes application tricky because I am sometimes unsure of whether I am using the product in its properly-mixed state or if it has already separated by the time I draw it up into the dropper. Note: I recommend making sure that the product is fully dried/absorbed into your skin before getting dressed because it does contain oil and oils can have a tendency to stain if you aren't careful.

I get so many ingrowns every time I shave my armpits or bikini line. They don't feel or look great. These drops stop ingrowns in their tracks. Since I've started using the drops I haven't had a single one. They can sting a tiny bit when first applied to freshly shaved skin but it goes away super quick. It does separate really quickly so sometimes I have to shake it up a few times if I'm applying it to more than one area. I love these drops so much they are amazing.

I received the Kiehl's Ingrown Hair & Tone Correcting Drops from the company in exchange for my feedback regarding the product. I will start of by saying that the liquid dropper bottle has not been my favorite application method for applying the formula, as it's very thin and drippy. I understand that they probably couldn't have put in an airless pump container though as it needs to be shaken for the oil and water ingredients to emulsify. That itself made me a little of the products effectiveness, as in, are the ingredients going to penetrate effectively if they are easily separating? I decided to stick with it for evaluation purposes, and found that shaking the solution, then dropping it onto a cotton round first made for a much easier application. I applied to my external pubic area every time after shaving for a few weeks, and definitely see some improvements in reduction of pigment left behind from areas that previously had issues with ingrown hairs. Also feel like it has prevented new ones from developing. There is no burning, sometimes just a mild tingling sensation. It is a bit oily though, so I make sure to let the area air dry fully before putting on underwear. I'd recommend it if you're a person who doesn't mind the annoyances that I've mentioned!
