Big HP and ORLY Fan here! Seeing some bad reviews about application. I'm a little more experienced than the average consumer with cat eye / magnets. The key is to let the first coat fully dry and then you magnetize the second coat. Otherwise the magnet pulls the layers off. Actually a great tutorial to see if you scan the QR code. Love it. Thanks ORLY!

Love that ulta finally has a magnetic nail polish (even if its limited edition)! These are great nail lacquers that apply so evenly. The directions recommend doing a base coat of the color first without using the magnet, and then applying a thicker second coat and then using the magnet to get the design you want. The thicker the coat is, the better the design will turn out! Since its a nail lacquer, theres a drying time. I noticed when applying the second coat that if it wasnt thick the magnet couldnt do much. These also are not as opaque as a gel polish, I put two coats on and since the second one was thicker it gave some more coverage but I'd recommend using a black or similar colored regular nail polish as a base coat to get a more opaque result! Overall, very happy with these!

I had very high hopes for this polish. Then i read the one review after i ordered and instantly got nervous. What if the magnetic wand doesn't work?!?! Well Potter fans- IT WORKS…. Kind of… this is how- base coat. Then 3 coats of the polish- then the magnetic wand. I used the lightening bolt side. Its not a true zig zag bolt but more curvy i guess. Still very cute! Wish iI cpuld attach a photo so you can see!

This was a stunning effect and so shimmery. I used 2 coats and my husband held the magnet close and it created lightning bolt like effect or another type with the other magnet. Very velvet like. I am an HP nut so getting the others as well. Can't wait.
