Q
Is this meant to replace other creams/moisturizers or is this more like a serum to be used under moisturizer? It's confusing with the word cream in the product name.

Great question! The Good Molecules Gentle Retinal Cream is a cream textured retinol treatment that can be used at the end of your routine in the serum/treatment step, prior to applying an oil or moisturizer. I hope that this information helps to further clarify. Was this answer helpful to you

WOW!!!!!!!!

I want to start this by saying everyone has different skin so what works for me might not necessarily work for someons else. I'm 25 going on 26 come November, and I have very dry, sensitive skin. I recently stopped taking birth control and had a cystic acne breakout the likes of which I havent seen ...

dissappointed

I have fallen in love with Good Molecules skincare products since receiving some of their products as a birthday gift. So when I went to place my first ever order I decided to go ahead and give the "Gentle" retinol a try as I've tried a vegan retinol from a different brand that I loved but it's just...

New version is nothing like the old one

Submitted 5 days ago

By Angie

From Reading, PA

I used this retinol cream for nearly a year (and swore by it) and it worked well for my skin—until recently, when i could swear GM quietly changed the formula and packaging. Not only does the new version smell HORRIBLE, but it caused me to have a severe breakout and what I believe was an allergic reaction. My skin has never reacted this badly to a skincare product before and I know for a fact it is directly linked to using this cream. It's really disappointing that such a reliable product was altered without any clear notice. The new tube looks different, the texture feels off, (and you can definitely tell by the smell) and unfortunately, the results are the complete opposite of what I experienced before. I won't be repurchasing, and I'd caution others who had success with the old formula to be very careful with this new one!!

Wouldn't be Without this Retinol Cream

After using this Retinol Cream for several weeks I was pleasantly surprised to notice sun damage (pigmentation) was fading on my face and lines/wrinkles (sigh) were also softened and less noticeable. This is an effective, affordable product!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Disappointing

I am not a beginner in case of retinols. This doesnt work for me. Probably it is too gentle for my 30 yr old face lol. The thrill to discover something so reasonably priced went away after using an entire tube only to find no difference.

Don't buy unless you want to break out.

I started breaking out within four days of using and I thought I was just purging. Continued to use it for three more weeks and my breakouts never slowed down. I stopped using it tor a week to see if my face just needed a break. It looked a little better, and i tried it last night and have two huge enormous new blemishes. Do. Not. Use. Check out reddit for more people with my experience.

sensitive skin

I have sensitive skin prone to breaking out in a rash, but this was definitely gentle enough for my skin. I'm 35, pale, struggle with rosecea and some acne and have mild signs of aging and sun damage. I use this about 3-4 times a week with zero problems. I use a scentless basic hydrating moisturizer after and in the morning I use a salicylic acid and aloe gel and a rose infused moisturizer and havent had any issues. ther w were some minor breakouts at first, but ive read thats normal.
