Exfoliating scalp scrubs are a thing? How have I never known about this. I do get an oily scalp and sometimes it gets flaky or I get some bumps. SO I was really excited to try this one. Didn't even know scalp scrubs were a thing. First off – typical Jack Black brand packaging and aesthetic. As much ...as I like the color theme and immediately know it's Jack Black – it doesn't really set it apart – and it looks like all the other products. If you have a lot of Jack Black products, you have to look at which one you're grabbing or get used to the little differences in the size of the bottle (if any) to make sure you're grabbing the right one. What's in it? Demerara Sugar, Peppermint Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Aloe, Prunus Armeniaca Kernal Oil. I love that it's dermatologist tested, paraben free, cruelty free, and free of harsh sulfates. It's vegan, free of artificial colorants, safe for sensitive skin, and for the most part made in the USA. All the listed ingredients are things I know of and have used for other things, which was nice! The product is supposed to be a multitasking 2-in-1 exfoliator and shampoo that removes excess oils and product buildup while gently scrubbing away dead skin cells and flakes for stronger and healthier-looking hair. Gentle for daily use and helps sooth itchy, dry, and oily scalp. I used the product as instructed on the bottle. Easy to use. Felt like normal shampoo. Slight grit to it, but didn't feel like you were washing your hair with sand. Maybe I wanted a little bit more grittiness so I can feel it exfoliating my hair. Maybe that's actually not needed – but I did feel a little bit disappointed by that. I wasn't sure if I was just shampooing and washing my hair at that point. I also felt like there was little to no lather unless you use a lot of the product at once. The sugar crystals in the product melts when using it – but I did notice some of the grittiness (presuming the sugar) gets stuck in the dispensing hole. Takes a bit of work to clear it. After several uses – it does get tedious trying to clear it mid-shower. The size of the bottle isn't that big and won't last long. The retail price just for the product doesn't make it a good buy in my honest opinion. The smell is neutral – not as strong as other products. The peppermint smell is slight in the shower but fades away after you get out. Maybe a different scent would make this product better. Overall – it's a decent shampoo. It cleaned my hair. Made it soft and felt clean. Was it better than any other product I currently use? Not really. Did I notice any exfoliation? Did I notice any difference with flaky or bumps? Not really.  Oily scalp? Slightly less – but any shampoo will do that. This could probably be rebranded as a facewash if I am being honest. On the bright side, at least I didn't have any residue in my hair. And It didn't make anything worse. I feel like this product was ok. Could definitely be improved and hope it is improved in the future. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this or recommend to others.
