Q&A

Q
Is this ok for mature skin?
Asked by bsjr
Official Answer By Urban Skin Rx - Brand Engage
Yes! Aging skin can benefit from using vitamin C serums as this powerful antioxidant helps boost collagen as well as brighten the skin. For best results, apply daily along with a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can you use this and then put on Vitamin C serum?
Asked by bdsr
Official Answer By Urban Skin Rx - Brand Engage
The Even Tone Super Glow Serum is a 10% L-ascorbic vitamin C serum so applying another one with it is not necessary and could cause unwanted irritation. If you are using more than one vitamin C serum in your skincare routine, we recommend alternating them daily instead of using them together. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hi! Can this be used after the retinol treatment?
Asked by Ava
Official Answer By Urban Skin Rx - Brand Engage
We recommend applying these two serums separately for the best results, so apply the Even Tone Super Glow Serum in the daytime and the Retinol Rapid Repair & Dark Spot Treatment in the evening followed by a moisturizer. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can I use this on arms and knees as well?
Asked by Melon
Official Answer By Urban Skin Rx - Brand Engage
Yes, you can! Just make sure you allow it to fully absorb and apply moisturizer and sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 as the final step to your routine. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
I was interested in trying this product when i saw it listed as having L-ascorbic acid. I see that on your bottle label and in the description of your product you list this as having L-ascorbic acid, but in the ingredients list it is only showing as ascorbic acid. Can you explain why that is? I know from doing my research that they are not the same, that L-ascorbic acid is necessary for maximum product absorption and max benefit.
Asked by Laura
Official Answer By Urban Skin Rx - Brand Engage
In the realm of skincare, the terms ascorbic acid and L-ascorbic acid are used interchangeably, with ascorbic acid being the general term that includes L-ascorbic acid and its derivatives when mentioning vitamin C in the list of ingredients. Was this answer helpful to you

Dermatologist recommended!

I am a board-certified dermatologist. This is my personal favorite vitamin C serum and the one that I recommend to my patients. This serum contains the exact same, highly-effective combination of ingredients as the gold-standard SkinCeuticals serum, at just a fraction of the cost. It also has additi...

Not Impressed

I received Urban Skin RX Super Glow Serum for free to review as a member of BzzAgent. What I liked about the product: 1. The product came with a dropper packaged separately, which was helpful, as I had to shake the product before using, due to it seeming to have settled and separated during shipping...

Not for Sensitive Skin & Horrible Scent

Submitted 1 year ago

By Jaime B

From Tampa FL

Let me start by saying that my skin is very sensitive, 48 years old, impacted with rosacea and additional intermittent eczema. That being said this product line is purported to be safe for sensitive reactive aged skin. Also let me say that the reaction I experienced with this product line was not retinol purging. I had been using IS Clinical Products for several years including their anti-aging retinol products. Unfortunately I used these products only twice and I dealt with a severe flare up of rosacea & eczema. So now this cream sits in my plastic tub that collects products I have purchased yet can't use. I can't comment on long-term effectiveness or if the products work as claimed by marketing jargon. One other thing. WHAT is with the horrible scent of this product line? If I hadn't had a hypersensitivity reaction to these products and even if they worked as marketed I wouldn't have repurchased any of these products because they smell horrible.

Pros & Cons

I'm impressed with the ingredients lineup in this formula - that's what caught my attention initially. I mean, not many (affordable) products have glutathione outside of Korea. The texture is really nice, too. Usually I find vitamin C serums to be greasy, but this seems to absorb without any film or residue. Again, I haven't found many vitamin C serums that perform well, have a palatable price point, and a nice texture. Usually I have to settle for two of the three. However, the smell is abhorrent. I'm not sure if it either dissipates after settling in, or if I just get used to it, but it doesn't linger forever, fortunately. It doesn't ruin the product for me, and I'd still recommend it, but that initial whiff was shocking. This would be a perfect 5 star product if not for the scent. Not everything needs to be free of added fragrance...
