Most Helpful Positive Review Glad I took a chance! I was hesitant about purchasing this brush after reading all the negative reviews, but decided to take a chance on it.... so happy I did! This brush worked great for me on the second try. I was unsuccessful the first time and hugely successful the second. Here is what I did wrong on the first round and right on the second round:
First things first, you have to activate this slowly. The first time I brushed it on my hair let it sit a few minutes as I combed it through... then I began the blow drying. My blow dryer dries my hair so quickly, and there was no noticeable difference!
I then decided I needed to let it activate more slowly - just like when I get my foils and sit under a dryer for ten minutes. I also didn't want to put direct heat on my hair again, I was trying to avoid damaging my hair and knee I could not blow dry the hair at the front of my face for ten minutes without frying it... so when I tried again, this time after the application I put a large piece of tinfoil over the front of my head/ crown (where I had applied the brush solution) to avoid direct heat. I instead spent the next 10 minutes blowing drying the tinfoil back and forth so it simulated the dryers at the salon.
I kept checking under the tinfoil and the hair stayed wet so much longer - instead of it taking a few minutes to dry it took about 10 minutes. It was really easy and more simulated the foil process I get. When it finally finished drying it after about 10-12 I took off the foil and was amazed by the results!!! My highlights were legit platinum and the roots were sooo blonde!!!
It came out awesome and I will be using this brush between salon visits even after this quarantine! I normally go every 5 weeks for highlights but between this and my weekly purple hair mask I have no doubt I'll be able to go 8 now! It really worked great for me when letting it activate slowly over a longer timeframe. Try it with the foil. (I have light brown, fine hair for reference.)
Most Helpful Critical Review Sun In Lemon Fresh, but with a brush and purple I pretty much bought this because I already use a lot of dpHUE products and Justin Anderson is an amazing stylist and I'm a fan of Kristin Cavallari. Take the brand and celebrity away, and it's just an expensive bottle of the Sun In we all used to turn our hair orange as kids. Kristin Cavallari's Instagram tutorial on how to apply it goes against the instructions and there wasn't even product on the brush. I bought it because I'm a sucker for celebrity endorsements. Use with caution. It'll lighten your hair but it's not going to make dark hair blonde and it'll damage bleached hair. If you're a natural blonde this would be great for you. But a $5 bottle of Sun In and washing your hair with purple shampoo would do the same thing.

This product was gifted by dphue. It is a great little tool and it is so much a cool innovation. It leaves my hair looking so pretty! I used this all summer long. I felt so amazing and confident with how my hair was looking. It was truly magical to have such a pretty shade of blonde in my hair like this all thanks to dphue!

I already purchased 2 more. I love how it helps fight the brassy color my hair tends to pull. It stretches my need to color out weeks more than normal. I also have used it to add highlights to my lengths. I use it on my roots … I'm naturally a level 7-7.5 so it works perfectly on toning down my roots. Highly recommend

Doesn't work :( 1

Was hopeful that this could get me through between salon visits however it didn't work for me at all. I tried it in the sun, under heat, used multiple applications with zero results. Anyone remember the herbal essences highlight kits?? They were fabulous wish someone would bring those back.

This product works very well for me. My fine hair is naturally a dark blonde color; pre-Covid, paid for highlights every couple of months or so, usually doing half. This product with the brush applicator is great! I've never done anything myself to my hair so believe me, it's easy -the highlights look exactly like I like. Used twice and already repurchased for the future. May never go into the salon again the way my state's doing, so I'm super happy with this blonding brush kit!
Great, subtle results 5

I really liked this brush. A put a good amount of blonde around my face. And then little tiny highlights throughout. I have a grow out/ balayage look happening and my hair is natural blonde grow out with some old highlights around my face that I put in about 7 months ago and this helped freshen it up. I tried using tin foil but that didn't change much so I just brushed on the stuff and blow dried on hot for about 10 minutes and it worked the same. I got about a use and a half out of this, so if you're using it for bigger areas keep that In mind. I like how it's a subtle change not blunt. It looks very natural. I couldn't really tell the difference until after I showered and styled my hair the next day. Will buy again. No damage.

Cool concept 3
Penelope from Austin, Texas
DP Hue gifted me their blonding brush in exchange for my honest review. The blonding brush uses hydrogen peroxide and lemon juice as a way to gradually lighten your hair. The product is activated by using a heat styler, such as a hot brush or blowdryer, or you can go out and hang out in the sun.
I really like that the blonding brush includes purple pigment to help combat warm tones and that it has conditioning agents to help maintain the health and hydration of your hair.
Its a cool concept, similar to "sun in" from the 90's. but i wish they made something for brunettes,
I didn't like this.. 1

I really do not think this worked. I see absolutely no difference at all whatsoever. I have tried a few other products by DPhue and they were wonderful. I do not like this at all though. I would not recommend.
I love it! 5

DpHue gifted me this percussion highlights that really brings out the highlights in my hair. It is gentle, gradual lightening, activated by the sun or a hair dryer. Enhanced with conditioning agents, the Blonding Brush maintains the health of hair and uses purple pigments to counteract warm tones in the lightening process. The soft-bristle brush, with precision applicator is so easy to use that even I can't mess up.
Great summer highlights! 5

I was excited to use this product, an I wasn't let down. It's a fun product to use with your tern daughter/granddaughter! I used it on my color treated hair (light brown), I had to do the procedure twice to get my desired color, but I'm pleased with the results. It looks naturally highlighted, blends really well with my hair, doesn't look drastic. My hair feels soft still, not dried or damaged, a big plus. And it is really easy to use, that's why it's fun to use with teenagers!
Not for me. 3

I was so excited to get this and was genuinely disappointed I couldn't use it. It is not meant for hair that has been lightened more than a few shades, or hair that is naturally very dark. I was too scared to use this on my naturally level 2 hair that has been lightened to a level 9. Oh well.
It worked for my hair 4

Complimentary from dpHUE.
Blonding Brush is a fun hair highlighter to do at home. I followed the instructions on the packaging. They were clear and easy to follow. The applicator was great. It made it so easy to control the amount to product when applying on my hair. It required to reapply the product on the hair after a few days to achieve the desired look. I did it twice. It was little time consuming. But I was happy with the result. My hair looked gradually lightening. My hair felt soft and didn't have any damage.

This is a really fun idea and I love that it's not harsh chemicals. This would be really fun for a young teen to do!

My hair is dark blonde. I was very excited but also afraid to use this product. However, the results were fabulous. I used it by my roots and hairline. It didn't change color drastically; it didn't make stains; it didn't bleach out. The color came as natural and warm. I am very impressed.

I'm so excited I was gifted this item ! I don't have to go damage my hair with bleach products. With just a few strokes to the hair you want and it gets activated once your hair touches the sunlight. It's beyond awesome

The dpHUE x Kristin Cavallari Blonding Brush is your go-to for gradual, precision lightening to brighten your roots between salon visits and give you sun-kissed highlights to frame your face. It was gifted by dpHUE.
Definitely my go to now 5

I was gifted the blonding brush by dphue. This is by far the coolest idea on the planet. I've used other brands like sun in in the past and this is sooo much easier and way better! The little brush indicator helps you actually get the strands that you want to blond. Unlike the sprays you end up spraying half your head on accident but with this cool design you get to literally do highlights through out your hair in particular areas that you want. You can do it on dry or damp hair, it works in the sun or by hair dryer. It's a leave on so no need to wash it out. I saw results within a week but I used the sun I didn't do hair dryer, so you may get quicker results if you actually apply heat directly to your hair. It's definitely a must try, it's easier then going to a salon or bleaching your hair and it frying your hair.

The application process was effortless. The brush tip made it very easy to apply. My use resulted in gradual lighting of my already blonde hair. My hair felt healthy after using this but looked a little brassy.

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. Currently I have highlights throughout my dark colored hair and during the first few times using this product I didn't see much of a difference. But after a week or so I can definitely say I saw a difference! It's very natural looking and the price isn't too bad either!

I was skeptical of this product after reading reviews but it ended up working pretty good. It definitely lightened my hair after two applications and it felt soft and not damaged. The applicator brush was a little tricky to use but overall I am satisfied with the results
