Curlsmith Curl Defining Styling Souffle is a strong hold curl styling gel that provides moisture, shine and flexible definition for all curl types.
Benefits
- Defines curls while keeping them moisturized
- Bouncy, juicy, shiny curls
- Strong hold (8/10), it creates a slight crunchy cast around the hair while drying
- The 'cast' is key to trap moisture, keep frizz at bay and enhance definition, but the crunchy feeling is only temporary; once curls are completely dry you just need to gently "scrunch" your hair upwards to break the cast and reveal soft, defined results
- Solid jelly texture that melts between your hands
- Vegan, cruelty free, clean ingredients and curly girl friendly
- Designed for all curls and texture types
Key Ingredients
- Irish Moss, a natural styling agent that provides hold and definition
- Babassu Oil to moisturize and add shine
- Flax Seed extract to help support hair elasticity
- Shea butter, Avocado and Sunflower oil for added moisture
- Resurrection flower (aka Rose of Jericho), desert plant that survives up to 3 years without water, known for its moisture-retention properties
- Andiroba, indigenous plant of the Amazon forest known for its nourishing properties
- Aloe, Sage, Rosemary, Pepper and Basil extracts, known for their antioxidant properties

Use on soaking wet hair, right out of the shower. Take a small amount of product, just a dime-size per hair section, and rub it between your palms. Smooth it on the strands and all the way down to the ends, using the "prayer hands" method. Scrunch gently upwards with a microfiber towel to help the curls spring back, then air dry or diffuse your hair as normal. When fully dry, scrunch again to break the cast. No residue, greasiness or crunch.

My curly hair has never looked so good
For the past 10 years I have been using DC styling products. Few months ago I switched to Curlsmith-- and just recently I finally perfected their styling technique. My heir has never, ever looked so good. I have what my stylist refers to as "cherub curls": fine hair that can be styled into beautiful...

Not for me
After i saw the reviews and the natural ingredients i decided to buy it, my curls looked natural, frizz free, smells good ,the only problem is that it leaves white residue in the hair, i thought it was dandruff then I use it on my son who doesn't have dandruff and he came back from school with his hai...

Alright for wavy hair
I wish the smaller size didnt come in a pot, it makes it kind of hard to control how much product you want to use. Scrunching out the cast is a little difficult and I found it to be stringy. Refreshing wasn't too bad but my waves fall heavily overnight. I wont repurchase but it was slightly affordable to try out. I personally love the scent.
Don't use this product if you have thin curly hair
Hair Type Very Curly Hair
I've been using this product for months and I was at first impressed how my curls looked until I started noticing that my hair was damaged. I am very disappointed and I should be suing them. Will not purchase again.
I got two more on sale!
Hair Type Very Curly Hair
Maintains curl definition but leaves a softer look than traditional gels.
You can probably pass on this one
This dried out my hair the more I used it, used it for a few years (a little goes a looonng way). The consistency is like goop, but when you rub it between your palms it becomes slippy and easy to distribute in your wet hair. Don't get me wrong, initially it made my curls look amazing, but over time my curls started looking frizzy and dry. After rotating this out with a different gel, my hair has recovered. So, if you're running into a similar issue and tried everything but not using the Souffle, then definitely rotate it out with a different gel that's more lightweight. Also, for those using the Weightless Air Dry Cream with this Souffle and find your hair is dry or stringy, these two products don't work well with each other. It makes the leave-in ball up and become gritty so it makes your hair tough to the touch. I'd say, pass on this, but if you're adamant on using it or have a bottle you need to get through then pair it with the cream from the same line (orange moisturing line) or find another highly moisturizing leave in that won't get decimated by this gel. Also, less is more, listen to your curls. Maybe even throw in a good lightweight oil to protect your strands. It smells great and initially it worked well, don't be deceived, there's just some ingredient in here that'll just sap the moisture right out of your strands. For reference, I have 3A medium porosity hair that's a little below my shoulders.
Not for blondes - roots looks dark due to oils in product
Hair Type Very Curly Hair
There are many oils/butter in the product, which does smooth my blonde curls but leaves my roots looking darker due to the five oils I could identify in the ingredients listed (sunflower seed, shea butter, babbassu oil, andiroba seed oil, avocado oil). There could be more but I was not familiar with all the other ingredients listed.
