Q
I want to try this brand and really was interested in buying this particular product but when looking at the ingredient list i noticed titanium dioxide was listed. If this is a clean brand then why is this ingredient used ?
Asked by VM
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! Titanium dioxide is a mineral that has a very long safety record and does not penetrate the skin. We use a micronized, non-nano titanium dioxide in our Cream Cleanser to help achieve a uniform color and consistency. Many companies use synthetic dyes to ensure that there is no color variation between batches. We do not use these ingredients. The primary concern for titanium dioxide is risk of inhalation which can be problematic in brush-on sunscreens and mineral make-up. However, the use of this ingredient in a cream leaves no potential for inhalation. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Is this good for sensitive dry acne prone skin?
Asked by Jessi
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! Our Cream Cleanser works well for some people with acne-prone skin as it does not strip the protective natural oils because it is a slightly acidic cleanser. The protective natural oils, called the acid mantle, serve an important barrier function. Many alkaline cleansers strip these natural oils from the skin which can have negative results. That said, if you prefer not to use the Cream Cleanser, our Cleansing Oil contains non-comedogenic oils that are great for cleansing acne-prone skin without drying. Our Jelly Cleanser is also a lovely alternative! Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can leaving it in too long cause redness and chemical burn look
Asked by Face wash
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! Our Cream Cleanser is a gentle, non-foaming cleanser that utilizes naturally hydrating ingredients like sodium PCA and hyaluronic acid to infuse skin with moisture while lifting dirt, excess oil, and other impurities from the skin. We recommend massaging into skin for 20 seconds and then rinsing with lukewarm water. If you are experiencing a reaction, it may indicate an allergy or sensitivity to an ingredient, in which case, we recommend discontinuing use. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q

What is the difference between the Jelly and Cream Cleanser?
Asked by Jam

Thanks for reaching out! The Cream Cleanser is rich in oils such as macadamia oil, sesame oil, and jojoba oil which create a luscious cream to gently cleanse and hydrate. The Jelly Cleanser starts out as a thick clear gel that, once applied to damp skin, turns to a cleansing milk that effectively melts away makeup, dirt, and excess oil that accumulate on the skin offering a thorough cleanse without drying or stripping the skin. The Cleanser I've Always Wanted

I've been a lifelong facial cleanser hater. I hate the stinging eyes, the tight skin and the icky feeling of water dripping down my arms and neck when I rinse. Admittedly that last one is a me thing not a products fault. I've tried so many over the years and just never enjoyed the experience but I e...

I love this stuff, but it goes rancid quickly.

I've bought this from Ulta twice, and both times it went rancid before the bottle was finished. With the second bottle, I know I bought it online from Ulta in November 2020, and it had been manufactured in September 2019. (The manufacturing information was given by the Transparency App QR code on th...

Dried my face out the smell is terrible

Submitted 10 days ago

By Ginny

From Phoenix, AZ

I read such great reviews with this item, but as with all the other products I tried it is terrible. The first thing I noticed was the bad smell. The next problem is my skin is slightly sensitive and this product completely dried my skin out. I would not recommend any of their products unfortunately and I really wanted to like them.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

EW, formula changed.

One of my most hated ingredients was added to this formula. Carrageenan! WHY MAD HIPPIE?!!!! I've been using this cream cleanser for years, mainly in the morning when I'm not wearing make up. It never broke me out, helped balance pH level, didn't irritate if it got in your eyes. I LOVED it but unfortunately I will never be buying this again. Also the ingredient Titanium dioxide?!!! It's a shame that Mad Hippie is doing what most other companies do just to fill their pockets more.

Great Cleanser!

Since entering my forties, my skin hasn't been the same. What used to work for me doesn't anymore. My face was feeling very irritated, oily yet dry, and I had a bunch of texture all over. I was at the end of my rope with all the skincare lines that I own. Until I remembered I bought this a while back. I started using this for my only cleansing step and my skin is loving it! I don't follow the recommended way to use this cleanser. I apply on dry skin, work it in for a bit, and then I add a little water to emulsify. I remove with a warm, damp reusable cotton round (I love the Garnier reusable face pads). It gets everything off, and my face feels clean and moisturized at the same time. The only con is I wish it came in a bigger bottle.

more of a winter cleanser

Submitted 4 months ago

By bri

From muskegon, mi

i do love this cleanser but i dont think it helps necessarily with acne prone skin or oily skin. i tend to use this cleanser more in the winter since it is so hydrating. im not too big of a fan that it doesnt really bubble up when washing my face, and it feels like you have to use a lot of product because of it. wish it came in a bigger bottle & bubbled more.
