It's tough to impress me. The PÜR Beauty Ceretin Boost Age-Defying Retinol Serum is effective enough to give results but gentle enough for retinol newbies to use. Retinol is one of the most researched ingredients and this esthetician's favorite well-aging one. I usually use a prescription retinoid; however, in the summer, I like to drop down to an OTC retinoid-like this one. Great ingredients, a little less active and better when you spend much time in the sun. I have been testing this retinoid for an entire month, and these are my thoughts.I love the simple yet elegant PÜR packaging. They try to be as eco-conscious as possible. There is no scent to this, although the yellow color of the serum shines through the glass and looks pretty cool. I like to use two full pumps for the face and neck; use three if you apply them to your decollate. The coolness of the serum reduces redness and instantly hydrates. After a few weeks, I noticed my skin looked bright, smooth, and hydrated. The main texture of the serum is lightweight and silky, allowing for easy application and absorption. It glides smoothly onto the skin and doesn't leave any sticky or greasy residue behind. It's also worth mentioning that a little goes a long way, as a small amount of product covered my entire face and neck. However, it contains little chunks of melting particles that I did not really enjoy. They did disappear and melt after through rubbing, but it is not a texture experience that I enjoy or look forward to. However, After using the Ceretin Boost Age Defying Retinol Serum for a few weeks, I did observe some positive changes in my skin. The serum helped to improve the overall texture of my complexion, making it feel smoother and more refined. I also noticed a subtle reduction in the appearance of fine lines, although the effects were not as dramatic as I had hoped.However, there were a couple of aspects that left me wanting more- mainly the chunky texture. As a Beauty Expert and Cosmetologist, I have had the opportunity to try numerous skincare products and I have loved all of the other products from PUR.I like how the PÜR Beauty Ceretin Boost Age Defying Retinol Serum felt on my skin, it did go on smoothly and absorb quickly like all of the creams from PUR that I have tried. What I did not care for personally was the look of the microspheres, don't get me wrong I like the idea and the technology. For me this one appearance wise was not a product I wanted to grab and use. I understand this will probably not bother everyone but for me I wanted to reach for a serum without anything suspended in it.So while I did enjoy the results and the texture of the product once applied into my skin, this one would not be one I personally would use regularly.
