Hi! You can use our beginner retinol gel around the eye area. If you’d like, you can follow with revitalizing eye cream for added moisture and brightening. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
How long should you wait before switching to the Advance Retinol if the Beginner doesn't irritate your skin after a month or two of use? I have had only minor breakouts and some dryness in one area so far. Thanks!
Asked by Retinol Beginner
Official Answer By cocokind - Brand Engage
Hi! Everyone's skin is different, but we recommend starting out with Beginner Retinol 0.1% for at least 3 months. If your skin can tolerate it well and you experience no redness or irritation, then you can start transitioning to Advanced Retinol Gel 0.5%. We always recommend patch testing first, and slowly start to incorporate the Advanced Retinol Gel 0.5% 2-3x a week. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can cocokind beginner retinol gel be used with a bha toner?
Asked by BrownBae
Official Answer By cocokind - Brand Engage
Hi! Avoid using leave-on acids/exfoliants like glycolic and lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide, physical exfoliants, exfoliating pads, and other topical prescription medications when using retinol. Instead, just move them to your morning routine. For instance, you should move your BHA toner to your morning routine. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hi! Only ingredient I see that I'm concerned about is soybean oil, which I've read can clog pores. Does the retinol counteract this?
Asked by Jess
Official Answer By cocokind - Brand Engage
Hi! There is actually no FDA regulation for the term “comedogenic." In fact, there are no standardized tests that can accurately determine if an ingredient will or will not clog your pores or cause breakouts. Skin health is completely individual and dependent on genetics and lifestyle choices, including skincare! Everyone's skin is different but I do hope you'll give our retinol a try for yourself. We also always recommend patch testing our products on a small area of skin to see if our ingredients work for you!Was this answer helpful to you

Amazing

I am 39-years-old and have very sensitive skin. I've used this retinol for not quite a year. It is amazing--the first 2-3 weeks, use maybe 2-3 times a week, as your skin will burn. I use a moisturizer after it. However, your skin will adjust to it. It is the only thing that has helped to control ...

It burned my skin

I dont have very sensitive skin and i did alot of research before buying any retinol. I bought this one because it was advertised as beginner friendly. Im not sure what happened but it burned my face and made it very tender. Im not sure if i did something wrong. I tried to wait a couple of weeks and...

Ive been using this product for about a week at night time. Ive tried other retinol products in the past, but with sensitive skin ive had problems with increased breakout and burning. Wkth this product ive not experience either. In the morning my face feels hydrated, glowy, and no "purging" phase that ife dealt with hsing greater % of retinol. I recommend for retinol beginners!

Great for retinol beginners

I was looking to revamp my skincare routine, and this was one of the products recommend by my ulta skincare scan. I decide to try it because my skin can be super sensitive to certain products and being new to retinol, I thought this would be a good beginners step. It's been almost 2 weeks and I already see a difference in acne and redness in my skin. I've had 0 irritation, but am still doing every other night just in case. Highly recommend if you're new to retinol!

The Best Retinol for Beginners

This is my first time incorporating retinol into my skincare routine and so far I'm loving it! Cocokind has made it easy for me, as I've heard retinol can irriate the skin if used improperly. The aloe and cica help nourish my skin without being too harsh or stripping my natural moisture. At first I was alternating days to build up my tolerance, but after a week I realized it didn't dry out my skin and now I'm using it almost every day. I've been using this for about a month and I already see results. I have a damaged skin barrier and hormonal acne on my chin, but this is helping to clear it up slowly but surely along with the Cermaide Barrier Serum.

I cannot see a difference in my face yet, but my skin feels great after application. This isn't to harsh either, which is nice. I am rather new new retinols so I wanted something gentle.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Great Beginner Retinol

this is my first time using a retinol gel/cream and this one is perfect. you can feel a slight tingling upon application but I've had no issues with it. I really like the consistency and it dried fairly quickly into the skin and I am able to apply my serums on top with no issues :)
