Most Helpful Positive Review the ONLY sunscreen my face tolerates
I have young skin (21 y/o). My skin is well-pigmented in that I've only gotten sunburned twice in my life. But, my skin is majorly acne-prone. I could NOT find a sunscreen that would work it. For a while, I just stopped using sunscreen altogether, even though I felt guilty going without.
I have broken out using sunscreen from brands like CeraVe, Cetaphil, Neutrogena, EltaMD, Australian Gold, Coola, Banana Boat, Dermaogica, etc. I was discouraged because I wanted the benefits of sunscreen, but it seemed like my skin HATED sunscreen products. I reached for this at Ulta on a whim.
First of all, the product is mattifying. It does not have that characteristic greasy look (as I experienced with EltaMD). It did not leave a white cast. It makes me skin feel soft, not tacky. And NO BREAK-OUTS!
Second, the application can be tricky. I found that I could not go crazy rubbing it in or it would pill up & make a mess. My approach is to gently pat this into my skin & it works beautifully.
I will also note that when I first started using this, a red painless spot would appear on my chin as I wore the product throughout the day. I still have no clue what that was all about, but within a week of continuous use, the red spot stopped appearing.
If you've just about given up on facial sunscreens, give this a try! Hopefully you'll find this as pleasant & skin-saving as I have :)
Most Helpful Critical Review Sensitizing
I had such high hopes for this sunscreen, as I love LRP but this was SO sensitizing to my skin it is unreal (I don't have sensitive skin either, so this was very surprising). I love the texture and that it blends out clear, doesn't make me oily and in fact, seems to help keep my skin less shiny and smooth-so 2 stars for that. I thought maybe my retinol was making me sensitive to this product so I stopped using the retinol for a few days to retry this but this sunscreen makes my skin burn when it comes in contact with ANYTHING, including water. And not just a quick burning sensation-the burning lasts for hours after application. I don't have any known skin allergies so I'm really confused as to why this is happening. Needless to say, I will not be repurchasing or recommending this.

it said it would control oil and shine but after a while of applying it, it would still shine and i think it got more oily than before applying. not for me.
The perfect sunscreen

I have very sensitive skin and I burn easy but this is the perfect answer. It's not heavy or oily and no awful scent. It's a must have and highly recommend.

The best sunscreen ever 👌🏼👌🏼clean my acne scars and make my face look good, the best for oily and combination skin
I love it!

I love this sunscreen. I have oily skin and it works very well with it. It comes out super white and a little intimidating, but once you rub it into your skin it disappears and it leaves almost a matte finish. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is bc when I open to bottle it leaves a small dried piece in the cap that gets stuck on my face that I have to take off. Other than that small issue, I enjoy it. I've already repurchased my second bottle. :)

I bought in store once I saw the sunscreen I intended to buy was sold out. I will not be buying again and am upset I even have to finish the first tube. When put it on just to get in rubbed in, it pills horribly. I have been using with just my moisturizer and i've never had this challenge with any other sunscreen to this extent. If you sweat any degree, forget about it, little white pills all over. For a chemical sunscreen I feel there is a fair amount of white cast (keep in mind Caucasian so that is saying something). It also has that chemically sunscreen smell which I am not a fan of on my face. Do your self a favor and pick any other face sunscreen.
The best facial sunscreen
Roberta from Bentonville, AR
I've been using this facial sunscreen for years. It doesn't break out my skin and it's oil control
Not a fan
Ashley from Atlanta, GA
I've been using this for about two weeks. I bought it as an every day sunscreen & I do wear makeup about 5 day out of the week. I don't have acne prone skin just an occasional bump here and there. This is the only new product I added into my routine and I have zits covering my forehead, cheeks and chin! I'm so bummed bc this product is supposed to be geared toward clear skin and there are hardly any reviews about it causing breakouts!
Not very absorbing

I don't recommend this because it leaves white flakes on your face and not very blending even when you apply it after waiting for your skin product to abasorb.

I have used just about every mineral sunscreen and this one leaves a white chalky cast on your face. It is thick and goes on smoothly. It did not meet my expectations but I love this skincare line. Since we don't like that what cast they should improve that.
Horrible. I have combination

Horrible. I have combination skin(more oily) and this was way too dry and thick. There was a slight white cast and it piled like crazy

Pills, white cast
Sarah from WA
I have tried using this in combination with other products, moisturizes, serums, etc., as well as on its on and without fail EVERY time I use this product it will start to pill about ~10 minutes after I apply. It's so bad I can't apply make up after putting this product on. I spend the rest of my day pulling white pills of sunscreen off my face. I would return this product if I hadn't missed the return window (ordered before I needed to open my next sunscreen and by the time I tried this it was too late.)
Not meant to be worn under makeup!
Britt from Charlotte, NC
I had such high hopes for this sunscreen, especially considering the brand and the price. But it did NOT work under makeup (and I tried various foundations and CC creams). It pills soooooo terribly, rendering it useless once it all rubs off.
YahT from El Paso
I have oily skin and I'm medium tone (ig) it does leave a white cast so make sure to really work it into the skin. It mattifies my skin for HOURS without leaving it dry. I use it under makeup and it holds really well.
It peels on my skin
graces89 from Kansas City, Missouri
I like this sunscreen but the only issue is that 1. it's extremely overpriced for such a small bottle. And 2. it peels on my skin which is so annoying. It does leave a matte finish which I like because I have oily skin.
H from East coast
I'm literally the fairest foundation color available and the white cast on this product is completely unacceptable. If it's not working for me I can't even begin to imagine the absolute horror a person of color or anyone with any skin type putting this on and having white streaks all over there face. Also it pills up when trying to apply and adequate amount of sunscreen. Do better.
Jaqui from Eustis, FL
The consistence is very nice and the most important is no oily
I figured it out..
Mellie from Charlotte, NC
I love the finish on this sunscreen, it feels so comfortable. I hate sunscreens that never dry down and are always tacky. I love this matte finish without being too drying. And I love that it doesn't break me out. But it does have white streaks sometimes, I just have to look at myself 10 mins after applying and blend them in. My favorite is layering this under a skin tint or lightweight bb cream. I use their Ultra light fluid on full makeup days. Not a holy grail, but right now this dry touch one is my go-to.
Wanted to love it
Sam93 from Washington
This was my first LRP and I wanted to love it so bad because of all the positive reviews! It worked well as a sun block but it left my face streaky and would pill when I tried to rub it in or apply makeup over it. I have light olive skin and it didn't leave a harsh white cast and almost left my face a little dewey which I loved.
Chastity from Georgia
I totally regret buying this. It pills up instantly. I definitely can't wear it under makeup but I can't wear it alone, either. Bummer because this was expensive for me.
Ina e. from New york
Not great. Got a pimple from it. Pills on skin without anything underneath or on top. Leaves streaks and residue. It's really genuinely awful. Wouldn't recommend, trying to figure out how to exchange this or get a refund since I bought 2 and won't be able to use these. Really disappointed, i loved all the other Roche SPF I've tried in the past.

I usually love this brand, but this is a total miss! Absolutely never under makeup, rolls off as you're applying it. I have combination skin and I instantly regretted this purchase
This is a no for me
nikki from Tri-Cities, WA
This sunscreen started to pill and gave me tiny breakouts. It did control my oily skin but it's not worth it if I'm going to breakout. I'm personally going to stick to my Tula sunscreen.

#Hands-down this brand creates the best sunscreen you can think of and you don't wanna get burned at all whatsoever it may be pricey but it's worth the hype I use it all the time all over my body and I do not get burned at all
amanda < 3 from chicago, illinois
ok i can't tell how much of this is my fault as i use water-based products under my sunscreen like niacinamide serums, but i try to be so careful and pat this in and it still pills like crazy. since the spf level is so high, i still use it so it's obviously not that big of an inconvenience to me but it's annoying wearing makeup and having to spend 5+ mins wiping crumbs off my face before putting primer on. this also makes me wonder how much sunscreen is actually staying on my face but i haven't gotten any color on my face so i assume it's fine. anyway i plan to find another sunscreen from the same brand that may be more compatible with water-based products
