Most Helpful Positive Review Game changer
I love this product. but it is an amazing facial toner, I 've been using Thayers Original Witchazel Facial Toner for the last three days this is an absolute lifesaver. I have sensitive, acne-prone combination skin. My acne has reduced in size and this product isnt drying like other acne products or toners. My skin feels very hydrated after. Amazing! Ive only had it for a couple of days and already see a difference in my skin's texture and redness level use it every night before bed. It helps clear my skin and remove any excess oils and makeup after I cleanse my face. I also have put it in a travel-size container and carry it around with me and if I feel my skin is getting greasy I just put some onto a cotton pad and wipe my face and it leaves me feeling fresh and clean. It does smell like roses when you squeeze it out of the bottle but I haven't noticed my skin smelling like roses and it hasn't made me sneeze or make my eyes water after use.
Most Helpful Critical Review Changed the formula when sold out to Loreal.
I've been using the rose petal toner for years and it was the absolute best. I read that they sold out to Loreal last year so I expected the product would be altered. The original product did not have added caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerine, or potassium hydroxide. The water no longer says purified and the fragrance no longer says what it is, where it used to say natural rose. This may not matter to some people, but it certainly did to me. It's a shame that they changed the formula unnecessarily. So sad to have to find a new company to purchase this from. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Every morning after my shower I spritz my face. Very refreshing.
I am always happy with this product!

I have been using this toner for a few years. I use it after cleansing my face and before serum, moisturizer and eye cream in the evening. I used to use it in the morning as well but switched to a more "potent" toner for during the day. I highly recommend it.
Gentle on the skin!

I purchased the Lavender version of this toner to help control any possible breakouts and oil from my oily skin while using clean ingredients. I'm glad I made the switch from my previous toner to this one because it makes my skin feel flawless. The scent is very light and it refreshes my skin without the burning sensation like other toners. I feel as if it has also helped hydrate my skin and maybe that is because of the cleaner ingredients (may just be me). Overall, my new staple toner for life!

I wish I could give this 0 stars. I used to use this years ago and y'all go educate yourselves if you use this. Witch hazel on its own is WAY too irritating and drying, but to pair it with irritating essential oils should be illegal.
They changed the formula and it's not that great

I've been using the Thayers rose petal toner for about a decade, that's how much I loved this product. I recently repurchased via Ulta, and I noticed immediately the difference. First and foremost the scent is awful. It used to be a light rose water scent, but now it is a strong artificial powdery scent, irritates my skin and sinuses. yuck! It's also not as hydrating and refreshing as it used to be which sucks. I asked the company if they changed the formula and they gave me this long-winded advertisement reply which in the end they were saying yes they did change the formula. Ugh. I can't use this anymore which bums me out because the rose petal toner used to be so great for my skin, why I've used it for a decade! I'm going to give the unscented version a try, but I'm not holding my breath that it won't irritate my skin now too.
Have bought multiple times

I've been using the same toner for years, I have very sensitive skin so I really change my skin routine. I only bought this because it was on sale and I wanted to try something new. It has changed my skin! I used to have those little white bumps especially on my forehead and my jaw and they are completely gone now! I got the unscented one just in case because my skin is very sensitive, but I love this and I don't think I'll go back to my old toner.

I have sensitive dry/normal skin. I've tried other toners, but the cucumber toner is the only one I've found that doesn't break my skin out. I also like the size for the price which is nice on the wallet.
LOVE I got Coconut Water

I love what it does to my skin!! I feel it working wonders once I apply it, I think I'll try Rose Petal scent next cause I didn't like the coconut smell too much

i have very sensitive skin and i am very acne prone to the point that i have to use prescription acne medicine. i use this in the morning and at night before bed to clean off dirt/excess oil, and it works great without irritating my skin or causing breakouts. i use the rose petal one and it smells really good. highly recommend!

Forgot to pack my toner for weekend getaway so grabbed this 3 years ago and realized Thayers was so much better than what I was using. I have sensitive skin and have no problem with Thayers Witch Hazel Toner!
Does exactly what is needed

I like this version of witch hazel. Not too stingy.
finished a bottle before this review
Yala from My house
I bought the rose toner and while I tried to like it, as it's a cheap alternative to my regular toner, I just couldn't. We weren't compatible. Maybe it's the witch hazel but it always irritated my skin. I'll have to look elsewhere.
Amazing scent and so refreshing to use

This is a regular staple product for me. I use after cleansing my skin at night. Removes any makeup residue and tightens and shrinks my pores without drying out my skin. I use it in the morning again as a wake up freshener. The scent is perfect and starts you on a positive note for the day.
Added bonus: This product also stopped the itch when my husband got poison ivy and stopped the "cat scratch" itch when my daughter was scratched by our kitten. Since it is non-alcoholic it does not dry up the skin.
Definitely Will Buy This Product

I appreciate the makeup artist who assigned me and the toner is wonderful.
Pores look smaller and skin is well-balanced

My esthetician told me to use this toner in the morning instead of cleanser. I wasn't thrilled about the idea but now I've been using it for two weeks and my pores are smaller and my face doesn't get as greasy during the day. Highly recommend if you have sensitive/combination skin
Rose Petal is the best one
Lulu from US
I've tried all versions of this toner except the unscented. I will mention my experience with the other versions because I've noticed when a product has multiple types/scents, the reviews on Ulta can be confusing because we can't tell which version the review is about.
I have combination sensitive skin, and I've found the rose petal version to be the best for my skin: it does the job of a toner without causing irritation. It feels fresh and leaves my skin soft. I've noticed a general tone and texture improvement from this too. Rose Petal is the only one I will continue to repurchase.
Cucumber smells good but it was very drying, which I didn't expect. If you have oily skin, you may like the cucumber one.
Lavender was good at first, but a few uses it caused too much irritation to my skin. Though I was disappointed, I was not really surprised. Lavender isn't always the best to use on skin, especially for sensitive skin types.
Coconut broke me out really bad! I should have known because coconut water and coconut oil can cause acne. Stay away unless you know coconut doesn't break you out.
Love but don't Overuse!

I have sensitive normal/borderline-oily skin and bought the travel size cucumber version. I love this product for clearing skin when I have little breakouts or flare ups of acne which are rare for me. I only use this probably twice a week and at night hence the travel size. It does brighten my skin and even out texture. I gave it 4 stars because it would not use it how it's recommended. I would not use this every day for any skin type as it is very DRYING even for oily skin!
I would only buy this if your skin is not too dry.
JoJo from Seattle, WA
I have tried different toners in the past which I was not impressed with. I was hoping this one would be better after I saw it on the Today show. The person said this one would not dry your skin like previous ones. If I only use it at night it is OK. But when I have used it also in the morning my cheeks get pretty red during the day.
I definitely will buy again

Helps heal poison ivy and dries up excess oils without any burn. Leaves me feeling fresh and clean. I just apply it with a cotton ball or pad.
