Is this shampoo free of parabens?
- Asked by None
- Official Answer By SebastianNo it is not. Parabens are used in our products as preservative. They prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and mold, protecting both products and consumers. Parabens are highly effective and widely used preservatives that enhance the shelf life and safety of products including all types of cosmetics, as well as foods and drugs. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Why use sodium benzoate as a preservative when the tire industry long ago stopped using sodium benzoate to preserve tires as so many of their workers died from leukemia after exposure to the same? The shampoo is a slew of chemicals but SLS is the least of what bothers me.The other form of sodium benzoate is benzoic acid which is found in soda. Pepsi was sued for it. Just because the corrupt FDA says it is GRAS does not mean it is not harmful. Why not use vitamin E as preservative?
- Asked by Cecille
- Official Answer By SebastianThank you for your question and concern. The purpose why we use Sodium Benzote as it acts as a preservative that prolongs shelf life as it works against mold and yeast which over time products can develop when shelf life expires. • Sodium Benzote is the salt of benzoic acid which are both organic compounds Benzoic Acid is a organic compound that act as a preservative. Benzoic Acid is non toxic and the amount we use is less than 0.001/5mg, but if CONSUMED in high amounts can be poisonous. As to your question regarding Vitamin E. Why not use Vitamin E as a preservative? Vitamin E can’t be mixed in a product that contains water and Vitamin E is not a preservative it acts as a antioxidant which would have no benefit since DRENCH SHAMPOO is a water/aqua base product. I just received my order of the Drench Shampoo and the ingredients do not match the online list of ingredients. I saw someone else's question on this in the questions area and the reply was that the current ingredients is the same as what Ulta lists online, but that is NOT what the bottle says. I wouldn't have ordered if I knew it had sodium lauryl sulfate in it, especially as the second ingredient. Please explain what is going on. Did I get an old bottle or is Ulta listing an old ingredients list.
- Asked by Andrea
- Official Answer By SebastianHere is a list of current ingredients: WATER/EAU, SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE, GLYCOL DISTEARATE, DIMETHICONE, SODIUM CITRATE, COCAMIDE MEA, SODIUM XYLENESULFONATE, FRAGRANCE/PARFUM, SODIUM BENZOATE, CITRIC ACID, PANTHENOL, GUAR HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, SALICYLIC ACID, TETRASODIUM EDTA, METHYLPARABEN. Sulfates have recently gotten a bad rap as being bad for you and your hair. What you need to know is that sulfates are the ingredient that cleanses the hair. One would need to consume a large quantity of them to have negative results. We use only the highest-grade sulfates – which provide cleansing necessary without pulling color or damaging the hair. Optimal levels are contained in our products which leave the hair clean without over drying. We offer a very nourishing formula overall, which is gentle on the skin and hair. The SLS (sulfates) used are in the international regulatory permitted range, they have been tested extensively for decades to ensure customer health and safety. The relationship between sulfates and hair color is not straight forward. Most of what we hear is a myths that come from a "sulfate free" marketing campaign or company. Harsh sulfates will most likely always pull color from the hair and cause dryness. Gentle sulfates with the proper formulation of other ingredients will keep hair color in longer than most sulfate free shampoos. Sulfate free shampoos most often do not cleanse the hair thoroughly enough to rid it of dirt, oils, product and environmental debris. This causes more dirt to attach to the hair and the formation of free radicals. Free radicals cause the fading of hair color. The appearance of a sulfate in a shampoo does not automatically determine the "safeness" of the product. I hope that this helps. If you have, further questions please call 800-935-5273. Hello, I have very thin hair that I bleached blonde. I need a shampoo and conditioner that is light enough to not weigh down my hair or make it feel heavy. Would this be light enough for my hair while also providing moisture to my dry ends? I loved the light shampoo and conditioner, they were perfect but I can't find it anymore.
- Asked by anna
- Official Answer By SebastianYes, this product has the moisture your hair needs and is light enough to not weigh down fine, thin hair. I think you will like it very much. Was this answer helpful to you

I'm a 25 year old man with hair that's about an inch passed my shoulders. Typically, if I don't wash my hair within a day it gets very oily and I hate the dirty/greasy feeling. I usually shampoo and condition (Tresemme) my hair every day, especially after work because I tend to sweat a lot at my job. However, after I shower, I always feel like my hair is extremely dry and brittle. I tend to put a bit of coconut oil in after my shower to combat this, and brush my hair with a "wet" brush while I blow dry it. but due to my natural oils, this makes it so my hair gets greasy much faster, causing me to need to shampoo the next day, repeating the cycle of the dry feeling hair. (To note, if I dont put coconut oil in it, it gets very staticky and just super annoying) Would a shampoo and conditioner like this help with these issues? I do feel like my hair is more brittle than it should be, but it also gets oily rather quickly... Thanks for any help!
- Asked by Nathen
- Official Answer By SebastianYes, these products would be a good change to your regimen. If you still have fly-aways after using you may want to get a gel or hair cream to use for styling purposes. This will decrease the amount of grease or oil in your hair rather than continuing to use an oil not meant for hair. Was this answer helpful to you

I have very fine, lifeless, color treated w highlights hair. I use your volupt shampoo and conditioner that I love but wondering if this would be good to use for every other wash since I was told not to use volumizing shampoo and condition every wash? I currently use Redken color extend on the other days, which I like but don't love.
- Asked by Bag161
- Official Answer By SebastianThis would work well for shampooing every other day. There really is no need to switch it up in my professional opinion. Washing with Volupt daily will not harm or strip your color. Was this answer helpful to you

As Good As Pureology But Better
I believe I have found the best shampoo + conditioner in the higher end of these products - I can honestly say at least for me it compares to Pureology shampoos and conditioners and is far less the cost of Pureology. I have probably tried every higher end shampoo and conditioner out there and my new...

I loved it THEN hated it
I really wanted to love this shampoo. I first tried it when I stayed at a friends place and didn't bring shampoo with me. She told me to just use the drench shampoo in her shower. I did and I loved it from the start. It smelled amazing, felt fancy and made my hair feel great. I went to work that day...

Best Moisturizing Shampoo/Conditioner
Love the Drench duo. I have coarse, wavy/curly hair that I highlight. I switch shampoos and conditioners every so often. I hadn't used this duo in awhile, snd noticed immediately after the first use that my hair felt softer than it had in awhile. Bonus—great smell! My hair is very thick, so I still do a spray-in detangler anyway, but this conditioner does a pretty good job on its own with detangling too. Worth the price!
Loved and used for many years! Smells wonderful!!

I have used this shampoo for years and I love it. Its a all around perfect shampoo and it smells so good. I also use the mask once a week. My hair is natural Auburn and I don't color it, I get the Cellophane gloss once every 8 or so weeks.

Drying
Price is fine. I have never used a shampoo and conditioner that made my scalp so itchy. It dried out my hair. Broke my hair. I switched to a different shampoo and conditioner and my hair is back to normal. Don't recommend.
