Most Helpful Positive Review Best Lip Primer This is the best lip primer I ever had. I'm able to keep my lipstick on longer without having to reapply every hour. It also keeps your lipstick from feathering. Thank you to the Ulta representatives that recommended this.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not worth the money For my photo, I chose a lipstick I knew would feather without primer or liner. (I'm not wearing a liner in the photo.) The Urban Decay side's lookin' a bit feathery compared to the MAC side. And that was just 30 minutes after application; the feathering on that side looked worse an hour later. Kinda defeats the purpose of using a lip primer.
The Urban Decay primer is VERY soft and easy to break. The first time I used it to line my lips, the whole tip broke off and I had to fully sharpen it. You need a very light hand-apply almost no pressure-when using this pencil. You also need to be very careful with the pencil in general while the cap's off. Don't set it down on a counter/table uncapped, lest it roll and bump into something that smushes a chunk out of the tip. Don't accidentally bump the tip against anything. Yesterday I accidentally shaved a chunk off the tip because I angled the cap wrong while hastily putting it on the pencil.
Also, you'll waste a lot of product while sharpening, unless you save the shaved-off primer to apply later with cotton swabs. At least the pencil fits the NARS sharpener, if you have that instead of Urban Decay's sharpener.
On a positive note, the Urban Decay primer does feel nice on my lips. It's very lightweight and moderately moisturizing. The MAC primer feels slightly heavier in a rich creamy way, which I prefer. But under most drying liquid mattes, both primers save my lips from utter despair. For instance, the Urban Decay primer kept my lips from shriveling under my Ofra liquid matte-but so does the MAC primer. The MAC primer is better at keeping the Ofra color (Bondi Beach) evenly on my lips. And it's $1 cheaper than the Urban Decay primer, so... guess which primer I won't buy again.

I only gave a two instead of a one star because it does actually remove mascara mistake pretty easy if u can keep the tip from breaking which I can't but use my finger after it breaks and like magic make up mistake removed so wish it worked like it's supposed to then I would give 5 stars I will be returning sadly
Love it! 5

I found this product great at eliminating fine lines. I read the other reviews before purchasing and I have had no problem with the tip breaking and I have a heavy hand. It also works great at keeping my lipstick looking great for hours.
Disappointed 3

I expected better from UD. This doesn't do a good job.
Best I've ever tried! 5

I can now wear lipsticks with more color. This keeps colors from bleeding into my deep wrinkles! I love this product!
I would buy again 3

I wish it went on smoother

I had purchased this a few months ago, and tried it out on my lips and eye shadow. Well, yeah, some what disappointing because when I used it as an eye primer it did sting my eye lids abit. As for a lip primer, it seem to make the color fade from my lipstick. So maybe if I re try again, it might be better.
This Would Get Less Than One Star 1

Removed cap, small tip immediately broke and fell off. Base would not turn to allow any remaining product to be used. Not worth the time nor effort to return. Trash binned.
Just say no 1

I attempted to use the primer on my eyes and it straight up broke. The top of the pencil was so soft that it felt like chapstick. You know when you raise the chapstick all the way to the top and then use it and it breaks. I ended up smearing it on my eyes with my fingertips. and then threw away the remaining product. I'll have to sharpen it to get more product out. I'm going to stick to the Original Eyeshadow Primer potion.

So great under traditional lipsticks. I have bought so many over the years!

I have been looking for a product that stops feathering when I put on lipstick, and I am happy to say that I have finally found one. This primer pencil goes on easily and makes my lipstick stay on longer with no feathering. I would definitely purchase again.
Worthless. Collapsed the first time I tried to use it. 1

The top portion came off the moment I touched it to my face. Unable to sharpen or use. Useless and will be tossed out. Waste of money.
Not good 1

Caps falls off all the time, when I first used it, it was like putting wax on my lips. Very dry and made my lips look wrinkly. After a few uses the cap fell off in my bag and the tip broke off on my stuff. Not a fan.
Great product! 4

The best 5

I use this to line and prime my lips. Its the best. My lipstick lasts almost twice as long
when i use it to prime and it prevents feathering which i have a problem with if i don't line my lips.
Don't Buy 1

As others have said, the tip breaks off even with gentle use so you lose product. Not a good design.
disappointing 3
Cassie from Maine
Tip fell off first time I used it. You get a lot less product than anticipated and the packaging is just awful. On top of all that it is pretty useless. It doesn't keep my lipstick on any longer than wearing it on primer-less lips.
Wouldn't recommend 1

Works well but it broke after the first use and the whole tip of the pencil fell off. Super disappointing.

It went on nice but made my lips so dry. I returned it for something else. Maybe it was just me.
I don't know if I'll buy it again 2

Soft tip 1

Same as the others unfortunately, the tip fell off on my firsts use, and although it makess for soft lips, it doesn't prevent feathering
holy grail package sucks 4

Guys... this is the best lip primer ever!
major problems tho:
1. the packaging sucks (it doesnt wind up and down like youd think)
2. it completely fell out of the pencil on 3rd application
PROS:
1. After this product fell on my floor numerous times- i still use it bc my lips are now so smooth b4 matte lip application
2. it hydrates and deeply moisturizes lips
3. way better than Mac Prep + Prime
Keeps gloss in place! 5

I love this waxy stick. I use it as a primer to keep my lip gloss where it's supposed to be. It really does prevent my gloss from settling in lip folds or cracks, or from bleeding outside the lip line. I wish it were self sharpening but oh well. I just bought a second one, now I keep one in the bathroom for getting ready in the morning and one in my purse for reapplying lip gloss after meals, etc. Love this stick!
cleans up mistakes but does not prevent feathering 2

I have problem with lipstick bleeding past lip lines. Saw a review and ordered immediately. Loved the product from first use. Was amazed a product does as promised.......will always have an extra so I don't run out!
Tip broke off when I touched it, so waste of product. 2
Rhonda from Arizona
Used it around lips, lipstick went very very dry. Will have to use extra moisturizer.
