Most Helpful Positive Review Satiny Color Thats Perfect For Most
Initially I thought the color was a bit light for my skin tone but overtime I've come to like it. Its soft enough to almost look natural but glossy enough to catch the eye. The formula is interesting to work with. It may take me some time to really work out how to use it best. I'd recommend this for anyone who loves soft nail colors or if you're looking for an understated semi-neutral look.
Most Helpful Critical Review Difficult Formula, Great Color
Ballet Slippers was one of the first Essie polishes I ever bought, and I bought it because of the amazing reviews I had seen for it. To be completely honest, the formula is VERY difficult to work with. It's a lovely sheer color, but you have to put 3 coats to make the streakiness not visible, and by that point, it is opaque. That being said, once you are used to the formula, it is far easier to work with. All of this said, once it is on the nails and opaque, the color is AMAZING! I have 100+ nail polishes, and yet this is my husband's absolute favorite nail polish on me. It makes my nails look clean and chic; it is so feminine, yet professional.

The colors on the site aren't the some in person. The color is very dull.
Not Turquoise Barely Green

When I ordered this shade, the picture showed a bright blue green color. It's the dustiest green I've ever seem. The color is depressing. Very disappointing.

Don't buy it. Save your money! You'll need like 4 layers to cover your nails. Terrible coverage.

My favorite Summer nail color.

I love this nail polish brand. I'm not a super spender on nail polish, but the few go-to's I have are Essie polishes & this is one of them. My recently polished nails have held up a little over a whole week with minimal chips, and that's through work & chores like dishes! Holding up just fine!

Ballet Slippers is One of my favorite nail colors!! Needed to own it! It's the Queen of England's Signature Safe Shade... :)
Turquoise and Caicos- Nothing turquoise about this color
Lauren from MT
I am so dissapointed that I didn't read the reviews before purchasing this color. I simply assumed it was the wrong photo since the description said it was aqua. I even checked Essie's website and the photo for this color must be last year's because it's a gorgeous, bright turquoise that would've been perfect for summer. I ended up purchasing and upon opening, discovered that it's exactly as the previous reviewers said; a sickly sage green. It's going back.
I would buy this product again

This is the first time I have used this brand of polish and I am very impressed with the quality.I have had this polish on for over a week and still really like it. I use a gel top coat and so far have not had any chips. The polish goes on smoothly with good coverage. I will definitely buy this brand again
Love Essie polish!

One of the best polish brands. The light/baby blue color is perfect for summer.
Turquoise and Caicos color lie
Zoidberg from IL
I have to agree with the recent reviews. Something must have happened on the site because the color shown and the color received is vastly different. To me, it is hideous. It has the color turquoise in the name. The is no resemblance to turquoise. I was going to buy multiple. Glad I did not. I see most of the reviews are around the same time. The color on the site now is correct. For now on I'll compare it to another website to be extra sure. I can't imagine wearing this color so it will be given away. The only reason for the 3 stars is because I really enjoy Essie nail products. The color confusion is not the fault of the manufacturer. Still a good product.

Beautiful color- expected it to chip quickly but was pleasantly surprised!

More of a green than blue
Kayla from Pennsylvania
I thought this color (turquoise and Caicos) would have more of a blue undertone, but it is more of a sea foam green. Still a pretty, unique color and very fitting for beach/summer time!
Just a tip.

When picking out a color, click the picture to make it bigger. That is closer to the true color of the polish.

I didnt think I had to read reviews on a nail polish color, especially it being from Essie. But I should have. 🙄 Its like a grey green color... Not pretty.
Not close to what The picture shows.
Not the color pictures
Dull sage green from Illinois
The color in the photo is not even close to the color of the polish. The photo shows a bright almost Tiffany blue but the color it actually is, is a dull sage green. It's not a terrible color but not anything like what I was expecting from this purchase. I love essie nail polish but this one is a let down. Very misleading do not buy unless you're looking for a dull sage green polish.
Way too thick
Sam from Dallas tx
I was super happy to get this. But i bought it after stores opened after the Pandemic so i think it was old. It was very thick.

i made the mistake of being excited to repurchase this since i havent used it in over 5 years. the color is not what it used to be. it was my favorite color but now it's just green. i should have read the reviews.
Not even close to the same color
Amnl from Online
I was very excited about this color and when I pulled it out of the box it was awful. One reviewer said dull green and that's correct. It's this very dull green that looks like it belongs on camo. I was so mad! This photo is NOT representative of turquoise and Caicos color.
Great summer color
Monroeville Diva from Monroeville PA
This color is so pretty, a great color for summer. I would have given it 5 stars but it was more sheer than I expected requiring an additional coat. However, I would definitely buy this color again.
Not the same color
K from K
I never review things, but I'm super annoyed that this came today in the mail and is a super ugly dull green color. Not even close to the same bright teal that's shown in the pics.
Luv Cosmetics from Cupertino
It's difficult buying colors online since it's always to see in person, but gave this a try. It's a pretty color, but I wanted a lot more pigment in it so I didn't use it and am returning it. If you are looking for a very soft peach with just a hint of color you might like this one. I gave it 3 stars because I've tried Essie polishes before and the color is nice, just not the color for me.
Don't buy it not true to color!
Nikki from CT
Do not buy it false advertising doesn't look like teal at all!!
What happened to Turquoise & Caicos?
Autumn Rose from New Haven, CT
Turquoise & Caicos was a favorite summer color. It was such a bright aqua, but now it's sage green. Not even close. Why on earth did Essie change the color? You'd think they'd make it a new color, with a new name like "Coming of Sage." From the "ode to 80's summer movies" collection. See, that wasn't so hard. Bring back the true Turquoise & Caicos, please.
