I used to always reach for wrinkle fighting powerhouses like Retinol, and they're still one of the two major items in my skincare toolbox.But SKIN RESURFACING IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT.Now, I'm forcing Retinol to share the spotlight with AHAs, my other best friend.I always shied away from AHAs as too agg...ressive for my sensitive skin, but not so.There are many types of chemical and natural AHAs that range from strong to gentle.I've recently had amazing success with various products by different brands.American company SACHEU is new to me but made a fantastic first impression.Their "Lactic Tonic AHA Resurfacing Face Exfoliant Essence" is yet another effective toner with just a handful of ingredients that works on the first application.Three gentler AHAs:Maleic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Tranexamic Acid do all the work in lessening hyperpigmentation and discoloration, while mildly exfoliating and helping with cell turnover.Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid are thrown into the mix to balance things out with ceramide production. So you get the best of all possible worlds with resurfacing, even skin tone, and help with restoring the moisture barrier.All are proven effective ingredients.The toner itself is as clear and watery as -- well -- water. Applied to clean skin with fingers or a cotton ball/square, I noticed an immediate tingling like the mild sting of pure lemon juice, and an immediate tightening effect and smooth texture as soon as it dries.That's pretty fast work.Unlike skin lighteners that lighten skin at the same time as pigmentation, AHAs resurface skin through exfoliation to expose a fresh layer of skin which affects pigmentation as well. Skin is evenly treated rather than over-whitening the rest of the skin while fading individual pigmentation spots.Honestly, I 've come to prefer this method overall during the past month of or so of obsessing with AHA products.My sensitive skin has been quite tolerant of the various products and I've actually gotten better looking skin plus incredible evening of skin tone, including instantaneous spot lightening from several products.
