Ok Experience - Could be Better

I have never tried hair density foam before. So this one I was excited since my hair is starting to thin out. First off – typical Jack Black brand packaging and aesthetic. As much as I like the color theme and immediately know it's Jack Black – it doesn't really set it apart – and it looks like all ...the other products. If you have a lot of Jack Black products, you have to look at which one you're grabbing or get used to the little differences in the size of the bottle (if any) to make sure you're grabbing the right one. This one is a round shape – so you'll know it's the foam dispenser. What's in it? Procapil, Aloe, Olive Leaf Extract, Peppermint. I love that it's dermatologist tested, paraben free, cruelty free, and free of harsh sulfates. It's vegan, free of artificial colorants, safe for sensitive skin, and for the most part made in the USA. None of those are exactly dealbreakers, but nice to know. The ingredients were supposed to help strengthen skin and hair around the root, calm/sooth/soften the skin, help fight free radical damage to maintain healthier hair and scalp, and kind of cool the skin. I used it as instructed; 1-2 pumps into clean, damp hair and styled it. The product can be used in combination with other hair products (which I did two tests with). On it's own, I felt that it was light. Not entirely sure if it made my hair "fuller" – but it was easy to style and kind of plump up my hair myself. It didn't weight down my hair much. The texture was a foam and mousse-y. Didn't leave any residue or feel sticky. Easy to use. Foam dispenser worked fine. Didn't feel "crunchy" or stiff – as advertised. But did have a slight texture. The smell was ok. Minty due to the peppermint. Not too strong – but if you're not into the spice smells you would notice. I tried this in combination with other products – maybe I haven't found the right product to use it with yet – but at that point I did feel like there might be too much product in my hair. Felt like that's when things got heavy and greasy. So I would recommend either using it on its own, or reducing the amount of each product if you're using more than one. Overall – I thought this one was ok. Wouldn't go out of my way to purchase – but maybe things will change as I continue to use it. Recommend if you're looking at density foams and trying new products – as mentioned – it was ok. But I'm sure there are lots of products that would work just as well, if not better, and possibly cheaper.
