Most Helpful Positive Review finally found my tinted moisturizer
1) The Natural Glow is the PERFECT color to match my skin. I usually have a hard time finding the right color in tinted moisturizers. For reference, I am a match to Bare Minerals fairly Light.
2) The coverage is light and doesn't look makeup-y. Great for everyday wear, but I've worn it out on the town too. Looks great in pictures!
3) Gives my skin a nice dewy look.
4) Product does not accentuate (or sit in) fine lines the way some products do. I can't wear mineral powders anymore for this reason.
5) I like that this product is a multi-tasker. Works as a tinted moisturizer and can help correct my skin over time.
6) It is natural and contains zinc oxide as the sunscreen. I am sensitive to chemicals (which make my face red) so this is perfect! I've been looking a long time for a natural tinted moisturizer with zinc oxide and the right color pigment.
1) The finish is a little oily looking, but well, that's because there's oil in it. I actually prefer this look, but I can see how it may not suit everyone. Adding finishing powder on top helps correct this.
2) The scent is ok, not intolerable. Smells kind of like woodsy black licorice. It's got the same scent (tho milder) as the Juice Beauty Tinted moisturizers. Other reviewers either love it or hate it. Note that the scent fades after a short while so don't let this deter you. I am usually sensitive to scents (i.e. headaches) but this product doesn't bother me.
3) The coverage may be too light for some. If you are looking to cover acne marks, this won't work. Your skin has to be clear to begin with, and this product just kicks it up a notch.
4) If your skin is very oily, you may not like this product because of the almost too dewy finish. My skin is combination but tends to get dry because I use Retin-A, so I wear a moisturizer under this, and it is just great. I don't break out at all with this product.
Most Helpful Critical Review Had higher expectations
I was excited to find a mineral SPF CC cream, and was hoping for this product to be a natural alternative to the It Cosmetics CC Cream. Pros: easy to apply, especially as the coverage is so light you don't have to worry about blending issues. Cons: Light to no coverage- I think the tint in this is more to prevent the white cast of Zinc oxide. It does not even out my skin tone. I have redness on my cheeks, which is not covered. I have sun spots on the tops of my cheekbones, which are not dimished at all. It does not alter the blue cast under my eyes. It remains shiny on the skin, which emphasizes my large pores on my cheeks near the nose. It emphasizes texture at the cheek-edge of my undereye skin. Even when set with Alima Pure Finishing Powder, the shine is only held at bay for about an hour. My normally "normal" T zone gets greasy after a couple hours with this product. It does not dry down on its own without setting powder, meaning I have to set ALL the face, not just the T zone. FYI, I have tried this product on its own, with Juice Beauty moisturizer underneath, and with just rose/glycerin water spritz underneath.
Many have mentioned the smell. In my opinion, it stinks, but I do not notice it after a few minutes on my face. To me, it smells like weed roots. I'm not talking about the semi-legal stuff from Colorado, I'm talking about pulling out weeds from my garden and having stinky root smell rubbed all over my face.
In my quest to swap out my daily beauty and body products for more natural options, this product was a fail for me. I have also tried the Pacifica BB cream, which has similar barely-there coverage, but at least the Pacifica one doesn't have the odor. I wish Ulta carried more quality natural products! I want to try Gressa, Kjaer Weis, RMS, and Jane Iredale. Why do Ulta and the other big beauty store not have any love for these premium brands?
Reviewed by 947 customers Great sheer coverage and protection
Nikki from Reading, PA
This was recommended to me by an Ulta sales associate and I'm so glad! At first, product has a strong smell, but it disappears quickly and didn't bother me. I love the zinc oxide content, and coverage is sheer, which is exactly what I was looking for. Blending isn't as easy as some other bb/cc creams I've used, but that's because it's not watery like some, where the first ingredient is water. Still blends nicely just gotta work at it a little more lol. Evens out my skin tone and I love the ingredients. I definitely recommend if you're looking for sheer/light coverage and sun protection.
Good color/coverage but stinky and greasy
Nina from USA
This did not work well on my oily skin despite the color and coverage being ok. The smell was not great either. Not offensive but not my thing. It was greasy and almost tacky so returned ASAP.
Would not buy again
La prieta from Florida
Was looking for bb cream to replace smash box Camara ready that was discontinued bummer, this one was suggested, no where close to smash box, at least not for me, exchanged it to another suggestion for clinique moisture surge, and let me say love it, goes on nicely and nice coverage
Tony from Irvine
This product is simply incredible. It is completely organic, blends easily with hands, makes your skin look so hydrated (Like you drink a gallon of water a day), and lasts a long time on the skin. Not only is it beautiful on the skin, but it gives you amazing skincare benefits & SPF 30 mineral zinc sunscreen. It's kind of unbeatable to be honest. To those complaining of the smell, 1. It smells like fruit loops. 2. There is not synthetic fragrances in this product, like many other products on the market. Which is 100% so much better for your skin.
Care for your skin now, so you don't have to worry later!
Watery, no coverage, terrible color
Tati from San Diego, CA
This product had the worst coverage, I'm not one to care so much about it but I've had watery tinted moisturizers with more coverage than this "cc cream." I like the ingredients but the color selection and the watery yet oily finish to this is really disappointing.
Did NOT like the formula
Sage from Colorado
I didn't use this long enough to see about any of its "skin perfecting" claims because I couldn't get past the formula. It made my face so sweaty looking, not dewy, but like out in the south with 100% humidity sweaty. Also, it smells kinda like those old vinyl/plastic baby dolls with the faces that smoosh in. You know what I'm talking about.
Lola from Stockton
I was looking to restock my It Cosmetics CC cream and the salesperson at Ulta stopped me and pushed this product on me saying it was just like my tried and true CC cream except it was "all natural and much smoother on the skin."
When I opened it at home the first thing that hit me was the awful grassy smell that came from the tube... I get it's all natural but omg it smelled like all natural cut up weeds. When I went to apply it, the product was greasy like sunscreen and was so sheer it basically didn't show up on me at all and just looked like I smeared slightly tinted slimy sunscreen on my face. The tiny amount of coverage I got only lasted a few hours and became patchy. This product was a huge disappointment.
Fairly good product
Alex from Washington
It's a good product, I don't know why alot of wierd people saying it stinks, I mean it does have a smell but nothing horrible like many say, at first it does smell but after many times using it, it doesn't smell anymore at all the smells fades afterawhile. It does gives a nice glow. If People don't like to look as natural as possible then this product is not for you buy your heavy pound makeup instead.
Love the clean ingredients!
yang from Sacramento, ca
I love this CC cream and it is kind to my skin, prone to redness and breakouts. I was looking for a good mineral sunscreen for a while and this is it. I would recommend going a shade darker than your normal skin tone as the zinc in it makes their shades appear more pale once applied.
taylor from michigan
doesn't give any coverage, just gives a weird tint, smells weird, very oily and I have dry skin
bad scent and white cast
Mae from Oceanside
I tried to overlook the scent. it smells like celery matching the Juice Beauty concept. however, the smell is too dominant. then the product leaves the white cast and streak. the foundation is easily moved throughout the day. never again.
Grease pit city
Leebug from North Carolina
I returned this. I am particular when it comes to makeup and want an easy makeup routine that makes my skin flawless, but also good for my skin...this is proving to be a challenge. I am sure you could make this work if you add powder, primer etc...but that's too much effort for me and i.m.o defeats the purpose of a cc cream.
Still on a quest for the holy grail. This is not it. Waaaaay too greasy, holy shine!!! I like dewy, but this is more like I put castor oil on as a moisturizer. Why did no one warn me? Right now I'm using bare minerals complexion rescue in vanilla 02 and until I find something else, that's what I'm sticking to.
Product might be good but it smells TERRIBLE.
Kerri from Summerville, SC
The product was highly recommended to me by a girl who works there. It may be a good product but the smell is so strong, I couldn't even try it. If you like the smell of essential oils you may like it, otherwise, STAY AWAY.
Went on like drugstore makeup
April from Phoenix az
This went on like cheap drugstore makeup and was way too yellow for my complexion.
Jg from Michigan
Once I realized I needed to roll the tube between my hands to make sure it's mixed, I fell in love with it!
It blends beautifully, gives me a nice glow, and is lightly buildable (I tap on more where needed).
I love how moisturizing it feels while still being light coverage.
Yes the texture is thick as it comes out but a second or two on your skin and it melts right in, blending seamlessly. I have noted reviews talking about the smell and while I'm normally super sensitive to them, this one barely registers. Maybe because it's natural and not perfumy? Either way there's no scent after it's on.
Crose11 from Nashville
I wanted to love this so much but it just does NOT blend well at all
It does what I want. Moisturizes Sunscreens and Protects.
The Bay Lady from Bay City
I use this daily To fight the skin cancer I was diagnosed, and removed. Great product. The shade was mine.
Au Naturel et Moisturizing
Au Naturel from Orlando, Florida
I'm very proud of my freckles, so it was imperative I find a coverage alternative that would look au naturel. Juice Beauty tinted CC Cream is parfait for my sensitive, dry skin. Le Medium shade is ideal for my olive skin tone. I choose to wear it daily and adore the even coverage it gives me, reducing the redness in my chin area. Yes, I recommend this product for those seeking that parfait summer glow all year round!
Warm Glow and Sunkiss Glow
BrownCurls from California
Please don't ever stop making this product. I don't understand people who complain about smell. This is sunscreen! Not lotion. Fantastic sunscreen with excellent anti-aging ingredients. I am mid 40s and use this on top of Ilia's serum skin tint SPF so that I can get an SPF 70 combined, which is ladies, what we need to be wearing day in and day out if we want to try an look anything close to JLO in our 50s. Save $$ on a gazillion serums and just wear this amped up SPF under or on top of whatever other SPF works for you. Then just move on to make up or mineral veil and you are good to go.
Awful shade selection
Michelle from San Diego, CA
I was looking for the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue tinted moisturizer but I got intercepted by an Ulta salesperson. super nice and i'm sure she was trying to be helpful but she convinced me that i needed this one instead and boy do i regret it. The shade she matched me with was the 2nd to deepest in this range (which is awful, because in most foundation ranges i am almost right in the middle, slightly leaning towards the deep shades). This cc cream made me look like a joke, didn't even finish applying a full face. boxed it up and drove it back to Ulta. Do better Juice Beauty, it's 2021.
P.S: the deepest shade is such a huge jump from the shade I tried and it would be too deep for me.
I couldn't get past the unpleasant smell
NNJchris from NJ
I went into Ulta looking for a better shade of my current CC cream. A rep for the product was in. On her recommendation I purchased this with the primer. Put it on my brush to apply and the smell was horrendous. Didn't use it. Back in the box to return. So wanted to like it based on the pitch. If I'd been able to open it in the store, I never would have bought it. It's that bad.
Perfect for summer
Mcg09006 from Connecticut
I have very sensitive skin and have been using this product since it came out in 2012 every summer! It smells like fruit loops (I see a lot of people complaining about the smell but translucent powder does make it almost nonexistent) and gives a perfect summer glow. It does not offer much coverage but does even out skin tone for a quick tint of color and SPF coverage.
Stace from Fl
I really love this brand, but this is the first product from Juice I didn't like. I feel like it sat really heavy on my skin, and was very oily. Would unfortunately not recommend.
Wow. The smell. Not good.
Michele from San Diego
Please consider changing the smell. I liked the product a lot but I couldn't live with that smell.
Light and smells like grass
Nina from Las Vegas
It is light coverage and that's what I went into Ulta looking for. The urban Decay tinted moisturizer was what I originally wanted but this ulta had only the darker shades/colors left. A nice employee recommended this cc cream product and $70 dollars later I left with this cream and Juice Beauty's translucent powder. When I got home, the color is way lighter and it smelled like grass (this is vegan makeup). When I add the translucent powder to finish the look, it becomes blotchy and starts to separate on my forehead around lunchtime. Disappointed in this makeup but I'll continue to wear it since it was NOT cheap! #GoingBackToUrbanDecay
