Even though the products may not have gluten in the formulation we are not able to claim "Gluten-Free" as it can come in contact with other products or ingredients such as gluten in manufacturing. Be aware aware if you are sensitive to gluten you could have a reaction. Does this product contain sulfates

- Official Answer By Nioxin - Brand EngageYes, there are sulfates in the shampoo. Sulfates have recently gotten a bad rap as being bad for you and your hair. What you need to know is that sulfates are the ingredient that cleanses the hair. One would need to consume a large quantity of them to have negative results. We use only the highest-grade sulfates – which provide cleansing necessary without pulling color or damaging the hair. Optimal levels are contained in our products which leave the hair clean without over drying. We offer a very nourishing formula overall, which is gentle on the skin and hair. The SLS (sulfates) used are in the international regulatory permitted range, they have been tested extensively for decades to ensure customer health and safety. Most of what we hear is a myths that come from a "sulfate free" marketing campaign or company. Harsh sulfates will most likely always pull color from the hair and cause dryness. Gentle sulfates with the proper formulation of other ingredients will keep hair color in longer than most sulfate free shampoos. Sulfate free shampoos most often do not cleanse the hair thoroughly enough to rid it of dirt, oils, product and environmental debris. This causes more dirt to attach to the hair and the formation of free radicals. Free radicals cause the fading of hair color. To protect color treated hair we have the Pro-Color Shield technology that prolongs hair color. The relationship between sulfates and hair color is not straight forward. The appearance of a sulfate in a shampoo does not automatically determine the "safeness" of the product. All of our products are tested extensively to ensure their safety for consumer use. Follow up on the usage with something like minoxidil - why does the scalp treatment counter it? I'm trying to figure out the science, and if it's problematic if there is an "add-on" that will help replace it (or the primary active ingredient) in the overall system where you can still also benefit from the use of a product like Rogaine at the same time.

It really worked!
I was skeptical about whether this would work and tried other hair serums that were more expensive and pills but nothing really worked. I bought the shampoo and conditioner in april 2025 and for a while I wasnt seeing much difference. Im glad I didnt give up though and when I was looking at my hairline the orher day, I noticed all this new baby hair growth on the thinning sections on both the left and right top of my scalp. I'm not sure if it would work for large patches, but it worked for me. Excited to see how it will look once they fully grow in! It's not cheap, but the large bottle lasts several months and its still more affordable than pills and doesnt require putting extra stuff in your hair after you shower.

SOMETHING has changed... I have been using this stuff for years (#2 system) and my last purchase from Ulta is a different formula or has production issues... The pump top treatment is a foam that quickly turns to liquid. It used to not be so runny. It immediately ran down my face and caused a horrible and painful rash/burn. I have never experienced this before with the #2 system. Ulta please look into this product, it's dangerous!
