Lake & SkyeSantal Gray Eau de Parfum Travel Spray

I received Santal Gray as a sample during Ulta's fragrance week, and I really like it! The smell is very different from anything else I own, but smells seductive yet warm and comfortable. The fragrance lasts well. I will repurchase and am definitely interested in trying other scents from Lake & Skye. I see a discovery kit in my future.

I was hoping to smell more sandalwood, but this smells more floral to me than anything. I like it, but don't love it and won't purchase the larger size. The container is not well put together and the lid pulled the spray system out when I first opened it. Scents I do love: Sunny Side Up, Santal 33, The original Miss Dior Cherie, Good Girl

I ordered this perfume thinking this was going to smells amazing after hearing all the up roar about it. This perfume is the worst perfume that I have ever smelt. It actually made me want to throw up, I had to wipe my shirt off with a cleaning wipe because I couldn't take the smell. It smells like a cardboard box, soil and sticks. I sent it back the same day I received it.

Santal Gray was a blind buy for me, but I've heard such fantastic reviews of Lake & Skye that I had to try this. Bergamot and cedar are some of my favorite notes in a fragrance which clinched the deal, but I was also super excited for the unique carrot notes. And wow does this fragrance truly deliver everything it claims to be!!! It smells clean and fresh with slight vegetal, woody undertones. My husband says he smells the jasmine the most, but I personally smell the bergamot the most. It's very personal to the wearer. It's gentle, yet complex. This is an intimate fragrance too, it won't walk ahead of you into a room. Santal Gray is a sexy secret to be discovered. Overall, Santal Gray is a great unisex scent. It develops in a unique way depending on your skin chemistry and is sure to be a crowd pleaser; there's absolutely nothing offensive or headache-causing about this fragrance. Definitely recommend if you want to smell like a fresh mountain garden in spring!!! ***Pro tip: to me, this smells almost EXACTLY like the Bravo Sierra deodorant spray, which is stronger and more lasting than this EDP. However, Santal Gray is far more refined and a bit more feminine on the edges. They would pair together perfectly on a hot summer day if you're into that kind of thing! Must be the wonderfully intoxicating bergamot and cedar combo in both fragrances. Highly recommend.

I really didn't know what to expect! I ordered a travel size. Got it today. At first is very santal-ish and sandalwood. Very dry. It really does smell "gray." If gray driftwood or gray barnwood, had a scent, then that is the opening. I picture gray sawdust. It's definitely got some musk (sawmusk, lol) in there, and a smiiiiiidge or pinch of the cardamom. I just double checked the cardamom in my spice cabinet to make sure that's what I'm smelling, and it is. But I feel like the cardamom is in the background, really far away. I wish there was more as it's a lovely spice. I wanted to sprinkle cardamom on my arm to make the scent come more alive. Where's the spice ooomph? The mildly sweet/floral violet leaf doesn't say hello until the dry down. That's when I personally like it more. Inside my home it smells good. But I just walked outside and it smells even better out there. This fragrance begs for cooler weather. Imagine a wooly gray sweater on someone outside in the snow. Smells like that. I think it's totally unisex. I was going to return this but the longer it sits I'm getting more interested. I'll hang onto this to see how it is when it gets cool outside. If I don't love it I would gift this. I think it would make anyone seem instantly huggable. I own a santal perfume and that's the only thing "santal" I had to compare it to. I have Clean Reserve Nude Santal & Blush. They're barely similar. Just in the woodiness/dryness. I'd recommend not blind buying a whole bottle until trying it. It's definitely unique!
