Did Origins change the formula? 30+ year user. Bought the large size at local Ulta, shocked that it was a clear goo, not the charcoal clay mask its always been. Washed off immediately & rinse water was sudsy. I don't want to exchange it if this is a new formula, I will just return the product. So sad.

Does this product expire after opening? I read that activated charcoal as an ingredient can last a very long time. I bought mine back in march 2022. The product seems the exact same as when opened. I just didnt want to use it if it's recommended not to be used after a certain period of time after opening.

Once a product is opened and used, its integrity can be affected by such things as exposure to environmental conditions or from contact with the user’s skin. If a product is not fully used following that time frame, we suggest replacing it in order to assure product integrity. Hi, I had sent a question a few days ago that read "I was just wondering if you guys are a cruelty free company?" I guess I wasn't specific enough because when I received your answer via email I felt as if my question was being dodged. You sent me a list of what's not in your products and you told me that the only animal ingredients you use are cruelty free honey and beeswax but you did not answer my question. Loving this mask!
Ive used this mask off and on but only recently started using it consistently 1-2 times a week. It really evens my skin tone and makes it look so clean afterwards. I feel bad for the people that its make their skin turn pink or red. I use the checks and balances cleanser and then the mask. I make sure to wash off any make up first so there are no weird chemical reactions on my skin. Im able to let the mask sit and dry on my skin while I read a chapter or 2 of my book and then I wash it off and use the mega mushroom moisturizer! So fresh and so clean!
Product Changed from Charcoal to Clear Sudsy Mask?
I have used this wonderful mask for at least 30 years with excellent results. I just bought this one at local store. Not sure if I got a tampered product or they changed the formula - it is no longer charcoal gray - its a clear goo. Nothing on label says its new or changed. When I washed it off, the water was sudsy. Don't know what to think of the situation but it is going back. Why do companies feel the need to change the formulas of their proven winners? And how are you to tell if the mask is dried since its clear?
Burning Skin!
I was excited to try this but within 2 minutes of having the mask on my face, my skin started burning. I kept it on a few more minutes thinking it was probably just drying on my skin, but I was wrong. When I washed it off my face was red with even redder dots all over. I have sensitive skin, but have never had issues with the brand in the past. Time to look for another…

I've used this mask on and off for over 10 years. I shop around for others sometimes because this one is kind of expensive. Lately I've been trying others that have a similar price point though and even they can't compare. I have super oily skin and large pores and this mask is the best thing short of a professional chemical peel that I've found to keep my pores clear. I've tried so many other hyped up clay masks and none of them do much of anything but with this one I can see a difference immediately after washing it off. I leave it on for as long as I can stand it, sometime even overnight which maybe is not recommended but for me it works. I'm going to stop wasting my money on other clay masks and just stick with this one from now on even if the price tag is a bit painful.
Combo Skin Lifesaver!
I am in my mid twenties and have struggled with acne for about 15 years or so. Additionally, I have large pores, uneveness, redness, oily, sensitive skin, just about everything you can put into a skin type. I've tried every solution under the sun, serums, creams, spot treatments, you name it, and NOTHING has cleared my skin more than this product. I bought it as a fun Valentine's spa date night idea and it's genuinely become a holy grail staple in my skincare routine (which is not extensive btw, I use the mask 1-2 times/week and pair with my go to moisturizer. simple but effective!) I leave the mask on for 15-20 min and gently wipe off with a slightly damp washcloth and immediately can tell the difference. My skin glows, my pores feel tight and clean. The following morning I'll notice my breakouts healing. It's even helped with toning down redness and existing acne scars. I can't say enough good things about this product - I've been really insecure about my skin for quite some time, especially as a lady in her mid twenties still struggling with acne. In just 2 weeks, this product has made a noticeable difference on my skin and my confidence is through the roof. Highly, highly recommend. If you are struggling with the price, know that a little goes a long way, and once a week is still enough for a noticeable difference!
