Opening this has been the worst first time use experience I have ever had of a product. You open the tin and you see paper covering the balm. You remove it, that is fine. But underneath, you get a layer of a clear silicone looking product, not the balm itself. You pinch it and you start removing it,...

I bought it at a loccitane store for Xmas and it didn't smell like lavender. And I know the smell because I have other great products from this brand like lavender hands cream, lavender shampoo, soap, etc. The smell was not really rancid but it smelled like Vaseline mixed with motor oil. It also had white hard granules and I understand this product is not a scrub… O don't know where or how to buy it in order to have the guarantee that it is really fresh and that it will stay fresh for a long time since I bought the large container!

When I tell you that this product is amazing- oh my god- within 1 application the pain was gone and my face was healing, and after the second I am healed from my winter dryness. It's also worked wonders on my lips. I've yet to try it on my hair or hands but undoubtedly it would be phenomenal. As a bonus- my skin looks amazing wherever this balm is applied. I did read comments from others that this balm is quick to spoil- taking that into consideration I would suggest sticking to smaller sizes unless you intend to use it quite judiciously. I've no doubt that I'll be using and replacing the small size quickly this winter. This product is absolutely a new winter staple!

I was using it on my cuticles and hands but it went bad very quickly. Unfortunately, it started to smell a little bad and now it's unusable because it's too sticky and doesn't rub in, not to mention unpleasant scent.

I have the same problem as previous reviewers. I got it as a gift and loved it, as I have dry and sensitive skin. Didn't use it for a few months in the summer. Today I wanted to start using it again and it had a different texture from the one I remember, it's like sticky jelly. And the smell is terrible, rancid. I would love to use it, but it goes bad very fast.
