To Curl: Holding the tool with the base pointed downward, squeeze the clip to open the plates. Insert a 1 in. section of hair toward the bottom of the plates, beginning at the roots (those with shoulder length hair or longer may want to start the curls at the mid-shaft). Twist the tool while sliding down your hair and maintaining consistent pressure. The more you twist, the more defined the curl.
To Straighten: Holding the tool parallel with the floor, squeeze the clip to open the plates. Insert a 1-2 in. section of hair, starting at the roots. With your non-dominant hand, grasp the cool tip of the tool and slide from root to tip.

Confused as to why this product is labeled dual voltage when your response to a question below says you need a voltage converter if you use it out of the country. This does give a decent curl. However, I was highly disappointed with the straightener. I have thin light wavy hair and not even the highest heat setting was able to leave my hair straight. Cheaper straighteners work better.
The absolute worst hair styling product I've ever bought

My hair is fairly fine and I have never had an issue with a hair curling device not being able to curl my hair. It usually takes about 5 mins to do my hair with my conair curling iron. However, with this it will not even curl at all. And I agree with another review that the buttons are super sensitive and you can easily touch them while styling your hair and either reduce or increase the temperature without realizing it until you will see that your hair is not taking any curl at all. If it happens to curl at some point they just fall right out within a minute. It doesn't work good as a straightener either. I hate throwing things on the dump but I have zero use for this product. I also bought the curling wand and will review that as well.

so I was influenced to buy this hair tool off of tik tok, and it has produced some amazing curls. when I first learned how to use i pulled some of my hair out, but now with some practice it has been wonderful.

I was influenced to buy this based on how easy it looked to curl hair online, but this thing was impossible to use! I gave it many tries, and it pulled my fine hair, did not glide at all, was a total disaster. When I returned it the Ulta employee told me they are returned all the time.
