After washing and detangling your hair, divide into sections. Section-size dependent on how thick and long your hair is. I will tell you up front I have mixed feelings about this brush. There are definitely some good points, but there are also quite a few things I didn't like. Bristles are sharp
It does cut down the drying time!!! Just have to take the learning curve and learn to not have so close to the scalp. Take it slow and easy on the scalp. Or use a different Tangle Tease on the scalp. I go slow, my girls use the smaller TT brushes for the scalp. One of them and I have scalp psoriasis so our heads are extra sensitive. The quick drying time is worth the learning curve.

I like this brush to smooth and straighten when blow drying, but that is it. The bristles are so hard it is painful on the scalp, and I usually like a stiff bristle. The only reason to get this is to straighten with a blow dryer, but I prefer to use a round brush.

Was hoping to find a nice vented brush that would comb through my thick hair. This is NOT the brush. It does comb through but it hurts, bristles are rubber but are sharp and pointed on the ends. Very painful to use. Ended up throwing it away. My kids cried when using it and it isn't very vented...
