The first "natural" deodorant that I've liked.

Ok… Firstly, this is a deodorant, not an anti-perspirant. That means that while your pits might smell nice, you're still going to sweat. Normally I'm a big fan of aluminum based anti-perspirants. But sometimes their water repellent properties can cause irritation to my armpits. Especially if it's a ...shaving day. I got a sample of the citrus and vetiver scent, and decided to take it with me on a quick trip to try it out. And all though I was unsurprised that I still managed to sweat stain at least one shirt. I really liked the scent. And I was actually surprised at how soft and moisturized my armpits were. It was like I had given my armpits a spa day. Absolutely no irritation when shaving, and showering was just easier all around. I swear, this stuff is just a scented moisturizer stick. It's very soft. I learned the hard way that you want to use very light pressure when applying this. Otherwise you're just going to accidentally apply half the stick to one armpit. It practically melts onto the skin. And this is way too expensive to waste! So now I had a conundrum. I liked how this smelled, and how it made my armpits feel. But I live in a very hot desert climate. Sweating is just a given. So I also want the effectiveness of an anti-perspirant. I ended up making a compromise. Aluminum salts can last in the sweat gland between 24 and 48 hours in general. Basically, I switch off every day. One day is anti-perspirant day, the next is deodorant day. And I always shave my armpits after I've had a deodorant day, before applying the anti-perspirant. It might seem excessive, but my armpits are the better for it. In winter I'll probably just end up using just the deodorant. But until then it's going to have to remain like this.
