Pretty but more subtle than expected

From what I can tell, the product is very nice—this particular shade was just okay, though. I really like the packaging; it looks like a metal tube BUT it's not actual metal, it's plastic (maybe not great for the the environment, oops) and it has a very small opening to dispense the product. Usually..., my major gripe with cream products in tubes is that it's extremely easy to dispense more product than needed if you press even slightly too hard (especially metal tubes) and the opening is normally quite large, which also dispenses too much product (if you've ever used a specific cheek "paint" made by a brand that rhymes with "Dossier," then you know what I'm talking about). It was very easy to dispense the right amount of product with this packaging. It feels nice and sturdy, and looks sleek. The entire brand has a very authentic and thoughtful aesthetic that I find pleasing to look at. Onto the product itself. This wore very well over eye primer and not so well without primer, but I have oily lids so I won't hold that against it. It blended well and I found it dried down with just the right amount of time for me to have blended it out. It held up and seemed fairly sweat proof on my skin and it didn't drip, flake, or smudge throughout the day; and I work an active job where I do tend to sweat and get overheated. My only issue is that the shade I chose was relatively sheer and it took either a thick layer, or many layers, to achieve a more consistent, opaque finish. I could be mistaken, but I swore that in the product photos it had a very intense silver look—this has more of a "twinkling of glowy silver stardust" effect versus the full on "BLINDING SILVER BEAM" I was hoping for. I found with thicker/more layers the product was more finicky to work with and was prone to feeling cakey, not blending very well, and getting patchy. It's still very pretty sheered out, but it's not the "wow, SILVER!" effect I was hoping for, and I probably would have chosen a different shade if I knew it was going to be more subtle than I expected. I do like this, that being said, and I will continue to use it. I am excited to try more products from the brand!
