Most Helpful Positive Review Didn't think this would work but it did!
I'm Hawaiian and Samoan and my hair texture is VERY thick. I usually leave it wet after washing so it looks nice and wavy/somewhat curly. My hair is also VERY long (past my waist) and brushing can be a nightmare. When I received this product the bristles felt flimsy and I hide little faith this would work on my hair, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it worked wonderfully, brushing without pulling or ripping. This will be the only brush I buy from now on as long they keep making it!
Most Helpful Critical Review Horrible quality
This brush is perfect for long, thick hair. It's the only brush that I've tried that works so well without pulling my hair out... HOWEVER. I have purchased THREE of these in 6 months because they all have broke. It cracks completely in half, severed, in all corners. The plastic these are made out of is so flimsy and poorly made. Maybe if it were priced fairly for a product that needs to be replaced every couple of months, I would purchase the fourth one. I would say $5 would be more accurate. Seriously, do not waste your money or time. I'm definitely going to find a new brand.

personally I never would have bought this based on the picture, but I saw it in store and I'm so glad I got it. it's very light to hold and gentle on my hair. helps to detangle, redistribute oil, and massage my scalp. if I need more pressure to get to my scalp I just hold it by the base
Brush is good when it's brand new

I've bought 3 of these brushes for medium hair in the last 2 yrs. I really like it, the bristles massage your scalp, removes tangles safely on wet or dry hair. Until it snaps on the bottom middle area. 1st brush thought i got the wrong type for my hair texture. 2nd brush thought I broke it. 3rd brush? The brush could be great. the price point isn't that bad if it was a quality brush. I even have 2 other OG brushes that are still in tip top shape. Seems to be a common complaint too. Hopefully they read the reviews and make some kind of change to this brush design. Unfortunately I can't recommend this brush.

It's great. Would recommend to anyone with fine/medium hair

Works great on my thick hair
I've bought this brush 3 times now! Love it
Violethue74 from Hunstville, AL
I use this everyday and it's super gentle on my hair. I bleach my hair as well color, curl and use a lot of heat so my hair has a lot of damage- I needed a brush that wasn't going to cause more damage and this is perfect. Once I found it,I actually bought one for my son who has long hair that's fine. Best thing ever!
Then I told one of my besties about it and she didn't believe me so I just bought her one. She was amazed at the difference a good brush could make.
My second time to buy this brush
dadd4sroc from Little Rock, AR
Love this hair brush! I have very thick, course, long hair and this brush cuts down dry time. I live in a very humid state and this brush helps with dry time and frizz. I bought it for the first time a year ago. It's easy to clean, has many spaces for the air to go through. The only thing is the protective tips come off over time; that's the only reason I bought a second one.
Love this brush - 5th one I have bought

This is the 5th idetangle brush I use. It is far superior to the wet brush for my long very thick hair. It really detangles the hair and gets through all the hair. I use it as my every day brush and styling brush. Negative is that I keep one in my large purse and the the little ball on the bristles eventually come off and they brush isn't great to use. The brush is cheap enough that I don't mind replacing it every year and half. I have also bought it as gifts and everyone loves it

Thought it would be great to detangle my thick hair as I blowdry. Great a few months, then the nubs started falling off. My hairstylist got me on the Wet Brush Epic Quick Dry and I've been using that for well over a year now. A few more dollars and a much better product.
I've had these for over 5 years and love them still

I have the fine and the medium. It seems like the fine is better for getting at the ends of my hip length hair, it's gentler on them than the medium, and the medium works for me everywhere else after my ends are sorted. So I use both - I have medium wavy hair, virgin, but my ends are dry. I don't understand the complaints about quality. Mine are both a little over 5 years old and still going strong, tips still intact, no missing bristles or cracks. The shape is perfect, they are light, easy to clean. I have tried all the other detangling brushes out there and I always go back to these. I have less snags, breaks and snaps with these than any other and they detangle a lot faster.
I love this brush.

Detangles perfectly without ripping my medium length hair. My husband has ethnic hair and he has grown it out recently and he loved mine so much he wanted one of his own!

At first, the brush seemed great. The bristles felt flimsy but they were gentle and gave my scalp a nice massage. I would not say this brush was good for detangling though, especially not thick hair! Unfortunately, after a month the bristle tips started breaking off, and every time I would brush my hair it would leave some behind in my hair. The bristles are way too sharp without the tips so it scratches my scalp if I try to use it, leaving the brush unusable.
Not for thick or curly hair
Keri4261 from Fresno Ca
I tried it on my hair and didn't like the way it felt going through my hair. It felt like it wasn't brushing well, and the bristles just gave way. It felt like it was going to make knots. My daughter has super curly hair, I was afraid to even use the brush on her tender head. I'm returning the brush.
The Best Brush

This is by far the best hairbrush I have ever owned. I have never bought this brand before when I was on the lookout for a new brush. I have very long and thick hair , this brush does its job! This is now my go to brand for hairbrushes.
A little better than your average brush

I prefer the wet brushes, this one is okay though it lets you remove hair from the brushes easier with the cut outs.
mycyanide from 06042
Best brush I have ever used! It doesn't pull my hair and you can use it wet or dry! Highly recommend!
I would buy again!
Chelly from Delray Beach, FL
I love how this brush feels against my scalp as I brush my hair. It is literally like a massage. My boyfriend even steals my brush to use it. I use it daily to detangle. It does a fabulous job dry or wet.
Do not recommend

When I first purchased this brush I was excited because I have really long and thick hair and regular cheap brushes didn't work out for me. After a month the bristle tips came off and the hair brush is really sharp so it would hurt to brush your hair. I don't recommend getting this brush at all
Works well with thick curly hair, breaks easily
Ashley from Wisconsin
The brush itself works great for brushing thick and curly hair, makes brushing my hair a breeze. I've had hardly any tugging when hitting knots in my hair. That being said, I've gone through three, the brush keeps snapping near the bottom of the outer sides
Brush for heavy hair

My Holy Grail
Jess from Pittsburgh, Pa
I normally brush my hair once a week due to my hair being in a bun due to work. When I use a normal brush it hurts and pulls my hair out like crazy! I stumbled across this brush for thick hair and decided to give it a try! I have never been more happy to brush my thick hair! I bought this 5 months ago and have yet to have any issues with it. It glides through my thick knotty hair and doesn't pull any out! I would highly recommend this to anyone with thick hair!
I would give it a 0 star

Bought the idetangle hair brush from Ulta for almost 15$. It seemed too nice and gentle on my thick hair. After few uses (almost a month), the bristle tip started coming off on its own and sticking into my hair. Within 2 months most of the bristle tips were out and it was extremely sharp to be used on the hair. I had to discard it. I would never use it again. Not worth the money spent
Brushing my hair so much more glamorous with this brush

Years of trying to find a brush to comb through my thick, curly hair. Finding this brush has been such a life saver. I no longer have to fight to get the knots out of my hair.
Svetlana from Chimacum, Washington
This brush works great. I have fine thin hair and this works great to get it into a ponytail for the gym. It feels like a massage on my scalp as I brush my hair. Love it so far❤️
Lauren from Chicago, IL
Hair type: Fine hair but thick volume. I was a dedicated tangle teezer user for nearly 7 years until my Ulta stylist recommended the olivia garden line. I was hesitant, but she told me it was the brush she uses on my very tangle prone hair that glides right through. It was coming time to replace my tangle teezer, so I decided to give this a shot and fell in love. I do have extremely tangle prone hair due to a medical issue, but this brush (for fine hair) glides right through with ease. it doesn't cause breakage, don't hurt my head, and doesn't cause hand cramps to use.
