Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

I woke up on Monday morning with a very large, very painful cystic blemish on my forehead from a combination of stress and hormones. This usually happens once a month, but this one was particularly bad, about the circumference of a nickel. I bought this product and applied it right away. By Tuesday morning the cyst was half the size and no longer throbbing. I have tried everything in the past- from ice to benzoyl peroxide and any online "remedy" I could find. This is the only thing that cuts healing time substantially. By Wednesday my giant lump was smaller than a pencil eraser and now, on Saturday morning, I'm blemish and make up free (with no scars or dark spots). I applied it very sparingly in the morning (1 drop) and regularly (2-3 drops) at night. Even my husband said "you should write a review on that miracle cream," as he has seen me struggle with hormonal blemishes. 100% worth every penny. There is a similar product being advertised elsewhere for the same thing, cystic blemishes, at over twice the price plus shipping. Save your money, and your face with this miracle Buffering Lotion.

I really loved this stuff. After doing much research on this product I ended up purchasing it when Ulta had their sale. I was instantly surprised at what this stuff was able to do. I apply it on pimples, anything on my face and the next day I'm amazed at what it does. Doesn't smell the best and very runny but worth every dime.

This stuff worked better for me than anything else had before! As soon as I feel a big chin cyst coming, I put some of this on it and it either A) Doesn't surface at all or B) surfaces then goes away within two days with no scarring at all. I would describe my skin as dry with oil only in the T zones.

Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

I have had cystic acne since my early teens, and I have never found a product that works as well as this one does on the large and painful under-the-skin bumps that hormonal acne creates. I use it underneath the silver powder (mixed with water to create a mask) to help decongest problem areas, which works amazingly well.

I am also a massage therapist and expert spa technician, so I know a thing or two about advanced treatment products. I find these to be simple and effective, and they make sense when you look at all the active ingredients.

I cannot use anything with salicylic acid, so Mario Badescu is my #1. This brand has acne products that utilize sulfur, AHA/BHA, and zinc to decongest and treat/prevent infection.

      I also recommend:
Special Cleansing Lotion C (great sulfur/antibacterial product. Really more of an astringent.)
A.H.A Botanical Body Soap (acne on my chest and back is gone)
Silver powder (I also wear this as a finishing powder for makeup; it keeps my skin matte.)
Rosewater spray (I love to spray my skin with this in the middle of the day. It's great for keeping everything hydrated and cooling your skin down, and that can help keep oil production under control. I also like to set my mineral makeup with it..)

P.S. -- I recommend Tarte if you are looking for makeup that doesn't aggravate cystic acne.

Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

I want to love this product sooo much but I can't. I'm 22 years old and I suffer from cystic/hormonal acne, and being this age, I'm so sick of it. I was told to check out the drying lotion, and then redirected to the buffering lotion. I'm from Canada, so I had to go on a little hike for this product, and everyone told me this was the holy grail of skin products. The first time I used it, it seemed to work over night, but it just went downhill from there and does not do anything for me not but dry out my skin. This is not an actual lotion, it is a liquid and when you're applying it it runs down your face, making a line of my skin super dry for the next 3 or so days. Makeup or moisturizer cannot hide the dryness either. I've been reading other peoples reviews, and it seems to work for them, which I'm glad, just upset I didn't get the same results.

Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

So i have adult acne. Great. For whatever reason my hair, my diet, hormones whatever so i get thoes really huge painful zits on the chin and jawbone and sometimes over on the cheek area and everywhere in between. This stuff is a life saver for example i felt a really sore one coming just above my lip i put on the buffering lotion and i wake up the next day and its even more tiny than it was before and also it was pain free. Make sure you shake this one!! I say this because the buffering lotions sister the drying lotion you arent supposed to shake. I use this usually right after my clenser before i tone or if im masking i do my mask first then as i wipe it off i apply there and let it sit as it works on thoes zits. It can give off an "alcoholic" tingle but it could be that i use alot of "rougher" products for my skin such as noxema, an alcohol based toner. Ect. Please cant reccomend it enough YOU NEED THIS

This stuff is amazing! I get a cystic pimple once every few months on my chin. I recently found this and decided to try it. I'm so glad I did. I put it on when I felt the pimple coming on and it hadn't fully erupted yet. There was a huge difference after the first night and then it was almost completely gone after 3 nights!!! The best part is that it never even fully erupted after I started using this. It stopped the pimple right in its tracks.

I have problems with acne. In my case, the acne never breaks the surface. I get large bumps under my skin that never become zits and can take weeks to go away on their own. Now, I use the buffering lotion in troubled spots. This stuff is a miracle! Though it does dry out skin, it also minimizes the size of my bumps, relieves some of the pressure, and helps clear up my skin in half the time!

It gets kind of annoying when it drips down all over your face when trying to apply it but overall, this does what it is supposed to. I have noticed that my little bumps have been really reduced/gone away in 4 days. Make sure that you moisturize heavily because it will dry out the areas you apply it to!

Do you think this could help with razor bumps or ingrown hairs at all? My boyfriend get really painful bumps all over his neck and I was just wondering if this could make the swelling from them go down so they don't hurt as badly.

Buffering Lotion should not be used to treat or prevent ingrown hairs. Buffering Lotion is specifically designed to treat large, deep, cystic acne.

                A:

Do not apply anything over the Buffering Lotion (such as moisturizer or serum). Do not use this as a preventative product; it should only be used when necessary on active blemishes. I would suggest you "zone" the serums and the Buffering Lotion accordingly. To maximize the effectiveness of the Buffering Lotion, you can pair it with our Drying Mask. Apply a few drops of Buffering Lotion to affected areas under a thin layer of our Drying Mask. After 15 minutes, rinse off, tone, and follow with another application of the Buffering Lotion.

Buffering Lotion will work to diminish the actual cystic bumps but will not address skin discoloration. Once you are no longer experiencing active breakouts, our Brightening Kit is a great option to gently help reduce minor skin discolorations. http://www.ulta.com/brightening-kit?productId=xlsImpprod11351443

The Buffering Lotion is formulated to help treat deep, cystic acne. The Drying Lotion is formulated to help clear whiteheads that have already come to the surface of the skin. You can use both products each night on the different types of pimples, but you should not use both on the same area.
