Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

I get cystic acne along my jawline. This definitely reduces the bump & shortens the length of time it takes to go away. I use nightly just on my problem areas & I have noticed a dramatic reduction in my number of breakouts.

Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

I bought this product in hopes that it would help clear up my hormonal cystic acne on my skin. After I used it for two days I had horrific cysts all over like they had spread. It only worked well on drying the small bumps on my forehead that I get after working out.

Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

I get pretty bad hormonal acne along my chin & cheeks. They're deep, angry, red, and never fully surface. Before using this Buffering Lotion, the acne I had would take at least a week to heal and then it'd leave an awful scar. I use this as spot treatment at night and I don't know what kind of magic this is, but it heals even the deepest angry pimples in a maximum of 2 days. I have also noticed my spots leaving less scars as well. I'll buy this over & over until they stop selling it and then I'll be really out of luck. It does dry up the affected area but a little moisturizer seems to be enough.

Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

My face had a hormonal freak out and I had no idea how to make it stop. I finally saw a review on this product and decided to try it. I used it morning and night and it knocked out my large painful cystic acne on my chin within 2-3 days. I went about washing my face as normal, used my toner and used this on my entire chin/acne prone area. It does dry skin out a little but it wasn't as bad as I was anticipating. It is worth a try to anyone who suffers from cystic acne, and a little goes a long way making the price not so bad!

Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

I almost never review products because usually the results I get are just okay. This product, however, has been a true life saver...or should I say, face saver. I'm 40 and have been dealing with hormonal acne ranging from mild to severe, since my early thirties. A year and a half ago, when my acne got super severe, I found a great dermatologist who really helped me out. Despite that, I still have some frustrating breakouts here and there and have pretty much tried everything under the sun to try and prevent them. Then I found this product. It's been my best friend since day one.

You can use it as a spot treatment which I do, but I also like to use this product the week before I get my period which is when I'm especially prone to breakouts. I'll cleanse and tone my face and then apply this product to my acne prone areas, namely my chin and cheeks. I let it absorb for about ten minutes and then I apply any serums or moisturizers on top. If I have any hint of a pimple emerging there is usually no trace by the morning.

Even the most non-comedogenic of foundations can make me break out so another trick I employ is to put it on before my foundation. I usually do my eye make up first and my foundation last so I'll gently tap and press a fine layer of this onto my chin and cheeks and let it sit while I do my eye make up. It has worked wonders to stop breakouts from my make up.

I know not every product works well for everyone but coming from someone who has tried everything, it's worth a shot. I hope this works as well for everyone as it did for me. xoxo

Comments about Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion:

WOW. I'm so thankful to have discovered this stuff. I've suffered from cystic acne for many years, and it's painful and embarrassing. Within 24 hours, this product caused a throbbing cystic pimple to come to a head. There was a thick scab that sloughed off my face, and underneath was the impurity, ready to simply be wipe away with a tissue and treated with salicylic acid. I also use the drying lotion from Mario Badescu, which is wonderful as well. If you suffer from this type of acne and you're on the fence about spending $19, just do it--you won't be sorry. This is a game-changer.

I love this product! two things I will say about it is of course it will dry out your skin as do many acne treatment products so make a point to moisturize beforehand, I recommend the Mario Badescu oil free moisturizer, and second It is very liquidy and watery so when applying it be careful not to get it in your eyes because it burns. other than those things I love this product.

I have been battling cystic acne since my early twenties with a cyst popping up maybe once a month or once every couple months then all of a sudden a face full of cysts. Once I got off birth control 2 years ago, however, my cystic acne took a new ugly form. I've tried everything and NOTHING WORKED. I was at the dermatologist for cortisone injections so frequently that everyone knew me. I started using this product and it has been life changing. I'll put this on a cyst the first night I see one forming (or even if it's already formed) and in 2 days it's white and pop-able and gone! It even worked on a spot that had lingering for 2 months and had injected 4 times. It's honestly something I don't expect I'll ever be able to live without. Finally! Something that works!

Hi, I love the MB skincare line !
I recently have been getting big painful pimples that are tender to the touch and can't be popped because it doesn't come to a head. What kind of acne is this? And is this a good option for me?
Also when using this is it supposed to be applied on top of the area or rubbed in? Thank you!

Our Buffering Lotion would be a great option for large, under the surface breakouts. We recommend to shake the Buffering Lotion WELL before applying directly onto affected areas with clean fingertips (1-2 drops will do the trick). Use every evening. Do not apply anything over the Buffering Lotion (such as moisturizer or night cream). Do not use this as a preventative product; it should only be used when necessary on active blemishes.

I have used the drying lotion and the silver powder for weeks with no results on my small hormonal acne. I know these arent supposed to work for cystic acne and they really dont, at least for me. Is the buffering lotion worth a try for the price? Im skeptical because the other two line products sit on my face and do absolutely nothing. Is there any thing else you recommend for cystic acne?

Our Buffering Lotion is a spot treatment specifically designed for deep, under the surface cystic acne. Our Anti Acne Serum is a great nightly treatment to reduce pore congestion and help keep breakouts at bay. You can also use the Drying Cream to target small areas of under the surface bumps. To avoid overdrying, use the Drying Cream sparingly and only on areas of concern.

Buffering Lotion is our go-to spot treatment for cystic acne, but it will not help to prevent it. First step it to make sure that you are on a daily skin care regimen that works for your skin type. Our Acne Starter Regimen Kit works best for oily, acne prone skin. Second step is to target the bumps as soon as you feel them starting to form. To take your spot treatment to the next level, we recommend applying a few drops of Buffering Lotion to affected areas under a thin layer of our Drying Mask. After 15 minutes, rinse off, tone, and follow with another application of the Buffering Lotion.
