I received a free sample of this after placing an order for another Beekman product. Is it suppose to be like a hard, candle wax consistency? The travel size container it came in was less than half full, and it definitely wasn't a whipped cream.

This is a widely used gentle, non-irritating preservative and is often used as it is not a natural formaldehyde-releaser. I have been using this Beekman 1802 Milk Shake Moisture Mist in Lavender and it is very impressive for my dry skin. The scent is soft and calming like herbal. I love that it is alcohol-free and packed with skin-loving ingredients like goat milk, hyaluronic acid and squalane. It feels more like skincare than a typical body mist. The bi-phase formula gives my skin a light, dewy finish without any greasy residue and the hydration actually lasts. I shake it up, mist it on and gently rub it in. It is quick, refreshing and leaves my skin feeling soothed and lightly scented. It is gentle enough for daily use and does not irritate at all even when my skin's feeling sensitive. The Beekman mist is light, quick to absorb and leaves zero residue. It makes my skin just soft, calm skin and a subtle scent. The lavender is not powdery or sharp. It is more like walking past a garden after rain with a hint of bergamot and tonka that makes it feel warm and clean rather than sleepy. I am careful about what goes on my skin. The Milk Shake Moisture Mist feels super light on the skin but still gives a nice hit of hydration—perfect after a shower or even just to freshen up during the day. It absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any sticky or greasy feeling, which I really appreciate, especially in warm weather. The scent is very subtle—clean and soft—which is great for sensitive noses. I also love that it didn't irritate my skin at all (and my skin usually reacts to everything). The bottle is cute and compact enough to toss in a travel bag without taking up too much space.
