Most Helpful Positive Review Not exactly what I was looking for, but still good overall I got this because I was looking for a lip balm that would give me a subtle lip color that I could easily reapply throughout my day the same way I would apply a lip balm, and I have always been impressed by SunBum products. It is moisturizing, has a good scent and taste, plus SPF which is very important to me. The lid clicks on, so it closes very securely, and I dont have to worry about it opening in my purse. The color is nice on my fair skin tone, and seems to last about as long as you can expect a lip balm to. However, I was hoping that this would be a sheer tinted lip balm, similar to the Fresh Sugar Rose or Berry, but it is actually slightly opaque and creamy. Due to the slight creaminess, it is not as subtle as I was hoping, and I like to be near a mirror to apply this to make sure that it is smooth and even. It is something that I will continue to use, but I dont think that I will repurchase it when I finish it, just because it wasn't quite what I was hoping it would be. Ultimately, it is a good product, and if a creamy lip color that is very hydrating is what you are looking for, I dont think that you will be disappointed.
Most Helpful Critical Review Nice color but overpowering taste I was looking for a good replacement of my tried and true Palladio tinted balm that stores don't carry anymore. I bought Sun Bum in the Bonfire and Nude Beach colors. I like both colors and they look good on me. The color is vibrant but still natural. It does tend to wear off easily and dries out my lips a bit, which is disappointing. My biggest problem with it though is the taste - it had an overwhelming "fake" coconut flavor that gets nauseting after awhile. I try not to lick my lips but the flavor just sort of seeps into my mouth, if that makes sense. I will finish my tubes but I don't think I'll buy again for this reason.

Love the light tint, makes my lips smooth and smells great! I do not Norma like a lot of color on my lips, this was perfect!

While I know Sun Bum is a great product, this is awful. Thick on the lips. I will be returning.
Disgusting smell 1

I bought this because I desperately needed a good spf lip balm and this looked like a good match. Plus looked like it was packaged with either cardboard or bamboo so I thought the price would be worth it. I was wrong it was packaged in plastic it was thick goopy and reaked of cherry cough syrup! Every time I inhale I gag a little the smell is so strong. And the cherry on top the color (bonfire a darker pink/red) while pigmented was more of a petal/hot pink. Overall would not recommend unless you don't mind sticky lip balms and enjoy huffing children's cough syrups.

I like lots of products from the brand and wanted to like this but I didn't. The texture is somewhat gritty and the coconut scent is overwhelming for a product right under your nose. If you use this, only do one swipe or dab it on with your figures or it can look cakey.
pretty colors, awful texture 3

it feels like you're smearing some kind of clay across your lips, uneven application even if you just scrubbed your lips. use them as blush so they don't go to waste.
10/10 RECOMMEND!!! 5

By far one of the best lip products I've used. I don't normally go for SunBum when it comes to lip balm, but it's long-lasting and refreshing. Definitely recommend!

It is pasty, sticky and cakey. Not good at all. Will not buy this again.
One of my favorites 5

I like this lip tint because it goes with any blush. Looks very nude and peachy.
I am in love with this lip balm, it has SPF & Tint in it 5
Annette from Tampa Bay Area, FL
This lip balm is great, it goes on very nicely, and has SPF & tint in it. Took me forever to find one that has both, and the it feels so nice on the lips too. I love it.
Won't buy again 2

I bought the Bonfire one in a store. It looks like someone has swatched it although it was seal by the label. So, make sure you check your items before leaving the store. I swatch several times to get rid of that used area. I think the lip balm is okay.
The lip balm is also stuck in the tube. I just feel bad to throw it in the trash, so it is still on my shelf as a decoration piece.
low cost matte tinted SPF 5

I also experienced what a lot of other reviewers are saying here that the pigment settles in lines and calls attention to any chapped areas. But if you scrub away and dry skin and use a primer, this goes on really smooth and even. I don't mind the extra step of using a good lip primer (which I happen to have - I guess if you need to buy one in order to use this product it might be a hassle). It's a small thing to do and I love the price of this SPF tinted lip balm that is super economical so I can get in multiple colors. I also love that the finish is satin/matte not glossy. And it's relatively opaque. I got Nude Beach which is a really pretty muted terra-cotta. Elsewhere I also got Raisin [H]ell which is a super dark plum that makes your lips look wine stained. I wish Ulta would carry that shade too! I have been using these every day during the summer but I expect to stick with them into the fall and winter. There is a mild coconut/SPF smell to this but I don't mind and I don't find the taste overpowering either like some others do.
I like it better that their original lip balm 4

This lip tint is way better than the original SunBum lip balm. It has a creamy texture and pretty, nude colors. My lips feel hydrated after using it and it has SPF!
Not good 3

This lip balm is not moisturizing at all and the colors are blotchy and it doesn't have much lasting power at all, definitely not a good purchase

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT SOOO MUCH!!!! I'm not really into tinted lip balms but when I used it, I didn't like it so much but one day I decided to use it as a blush and it's INCREDIBLY PRETTY!!!
Stay away!!! Horrible flavor, patchy color 1
Princess Peach from Portland, OR
I was looking for a tinted lip balm with SPF. This seemed to tick all the boxes, but it is the WORST! The fake coconut flavor is totally overpowering. It gets in your mouth no matter how little lip balm you put on. If you can make it past the flavor though, it's still a terrible product. I got the color Sand Bar, which looks like a coral in the tube, but is ORANGE. The texture is very thick and opaque (not sheer like most tinted lip balms), but the coverage is very patchy so it ends up looking super weird.
not for me 3
gen from idaho
i love the shades it comes in and how buttery it feels when applying but it looks more like a lipstick to me than a tinted lip balm. i don't like too much color in my lip balms and this one is so opaque it really looks like a regular lipstick. the taste is pretty good tho so if you're ok with the color then i'd definitely recommend
Did Nothing 2
Belen from Miami, FL
The color is nice, but the texture of this lip balm is not nice. It accentuates my dry spots, and the application of the balm is very clumpy.
Overwhelming taste; orangey color 2
Colleen from Chicago, IL
I was hoping for more of a sheer lip balm. And if it was going to be more tinted, I was hoping for more of a pinkish/purplish color (I bought Nude), but all of the colors seem to skew orangey. I agree with another commenter who said it's so pigmented, you need to apply it with a mirror. And the coconutty taste, EW! I ended up tossing it, I couldn't take the taste for the orangey color that was on my lips.
Love it! 4
Beach bum from South Carolina
I love how hydrated my lips feel and I love the color which is bonfire. I was surprised at how it melted a little when I left it in the car for a couple of hours but at least I know now to put it in the cooler when I go to the beach.😁
if you are thinking of buying this, don't 1

i bought 2 of these balms a while back and opened the first one in the car and tried it and it fell apart. so i waited until i got the 2nd one in the freezer for 2 days and it also fell apart before i even got any on. i put a little bit on and the overall texture is bad as well. it's gritty. don't buy this. i do not enjoy any of the sunbum lip balms. if you are looking for something tinted i recommend burts bees.
Great color, terrible texture 2
kdubs from utah
i wanted to love these so bad because the colors are amazing but my goodness, the texture on these are awful. way too gritty, does not go on smooth and is barely moisturizing. i've even tried applying chapstick first and then this, and that makes the color splotchy. i've tried melixer which is much more hydrating but the color wasnt there for me, and thought sun bum would be the fix but no thank you :(

Texture woes 3
Dee from CT
I love the color but it's way too gritty. After a few wears the texture was too much for me. Quite a shame too as the color is so pretty.
