Messy & Ineffective
Unfortunately, the brush that comes with this formula made the mascara genuinely difficult to apply, especially when trying to reach my lashes at the inner corners of my eyes. I wasn't able to evenly coat all of my lashes, which hasn't been an issue with any Pacifica mascara I've tried in the past. ...

Brush shape sucks

The shape of the brush makes it difficult to apply. I wouldn't buy this again unless they change the brush. Otherwise I like it, it's a bit clumpy but I think a better brush would help with that. Love the glass tube.
Aquarian Gaze is better.

I miss the Aquarian Gaze that didn't crumble and the brush separated the lashes cleanly.
Nice formula, funky brush
First off, I LOVE that Pacifica is changing up their packaging to glass! Huge selling point for me. I have short, fine lashes with hooded (& oily) eyelids. I almost always buy tubing mascara so I am not struggling with smudges. While this spiral shaped brush is certainly odd, it just takes some finessing. Similar to the hourglass shaped brushes. I actually really like this formula.
Disappointing
This formula was so disappointing. I was hoping this would replace the Pacifica Aquarian Gaze mascara that was discontinued, I loved that mascara so much. Nope. This Surf Lash is such a dry formula it is so difficult to apply to the lashes, and when it does apply it leaves lots of clumps. The twisted wand also makes it very difficult to actually make contact with my lashes. I can't apply it to my lower lashes at all without smearing on my skin. The good aspects are I did not experience any eye irritation, or any flaking through the day.
No Smudge All Day Beautiful Blac eye lashes!
I love the rich black to make my lashes look so long. I played 2 light layers and wow my eyes pop! I used micellular water to clean it off and it worked well. I even went swimming at my gym! No smudges. Love it so much!
