CEDARWOOD DOMINATES

The note pyramid promised something luminous: pink pepper and bergamot on top, waterlily and bamboo for freshness, and a base of vanilla bean, ambroxan, and cedarwood. From the very first spray, though, cedarwood takes full command—present straight from the bottle and overwhelming on skin. What come...s through is a smoky, bland sweetness, almost syrupy, that reminds me of those classic Drakkar-style scents. Perhaps the vanilla is deepening that impression, with the pink pepper adding just enough edge to push it further in that direction. Whatever the cause, it leaves little room for anything else to shine. Performance is consistent with what I've noticed across the house: lighter, shorter wear. Juicy—refreshing and playful—barely lasted two hours, while Only Human stretched closer to four before I washed it off. Normally, I gravitate toward fragrances that linger well into the next day, but in this case, the softer lifespan worked in my favor. Bottom line: if cedarwood's warm sweetness resonates with you, this could feel grounding and comforting. For me, it eclipsed the brighter notes that might've made Only Human live up to its name. That said, I do appreciate that Noyz is experimenting with distinctive profiles—it keeps me curious to see what they'll try next.
