Most Helpful Positive Review Great additional SPF layer for makeup
The spray is refreshing and has great range. It keeps my foundation and blush fresh and in place. It is an ideal product to have in your bag, so you can spray throughout the day, if needed with sun exposure.
I have seen a few reviews commenting on the sunscreen scent. As a health precaution, I avoid inhaling SPF ingredients by spraying my face and immediately walking away from that space, holding my breath.
Most Helpful Critical Review Just okay
I really wanted to like this product because I like the brand a lot, however, I had this product for a few weeks and then the top started to stick and it became really difficult to use. I bought this to take on a trip to Florida and on the way back the product leaked in my make up bag pretty badly and I think it's because the packaging is faulty which was a real disappointment considering the price. The product itself is effective, not sticky, and keeps oil at bay however the scent is a little strong for my liking. I won't be re-purchasing this product mainly because of the price and because the Supergoop brand makes a better product that is less expensive and has a higher spf so I think it is a better value than this make up setting spray.

I wouldn't use it as a makeup setting spray. I use it to reapply spf on top of makeup. It doesn't ruin the makeup when sprayed. It has a very strong smell. But so far it's the best one I've found for this purpose so I will keep using it until I find something better.
Not for sensitive or reactive skin!

I have a very simple skincare routine not day and night and rarely wear make up I tried this to use at an outdoor wedding. Used my regular Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer with some barely there eye makeup and set it with this. First of the mall ew! It smelled worse than an oil spill. Second the stinging it wasn't too bad and I had no choose so I threw this in my bag to reapply and went on my day. About an hour and a half later right before going into reception(indoor) I reapplied I didn't want to risk it same thing happened. Only this time it wouldn't stop stinging. I left the wedding went home took off my makeup gently with a balm and I saw my skin was so red and irritated! Specially around my eyes I look like someone punched me! Definitely returning!

Coola makes great suncare products. But this is not one of them. There is a weird stinging sensation along with a petroleum smell.
I really wanted to like this

The smell is the worst. I can't get over it. Will be returning.

This works so well. You need to follow the directions and spray it 10-12" away from your face. I didn't notice any strong alcohol smell, just a very light pleasant scent. I spray it over Bareminerals power foundation and it doesn't mess it up at all. I always use spf under my makeup and I am so happy I can now spray this on later in the day for a touch-up of spf.

Even on the hottest day my make up stays put! I also use it for touch ups throughout the day when outside.

of course I didn't read reviews but went off employee recommendation. should have read reviews first. returned it the next day. the spray came out like a mist which was great but the smell that came with it was seriously such a strong alcohol smell I couldn't handle it on top of being pregnant the smell got to me. some got on my hair which I thought would dry fine like my urban decay make spray. no it left my hair greasy in the spot it got on. just a big no all around. especially for the price.

I was excited about a sunscreen/makeup setting spray combo, but every time I use it I GAG because it smells like vodka?! I'm not sure if this is normal for this brand or not, but I can't handle the smell. I'm sad because I wanted to like it!
Great SPF and Matte Spray!
meysfriend2 from San Diego, CA
I don't use this product to set makeup, but I carry it with me and use it to reapply SPF throughout the day when I know I'll be the in the sun for hours (theme park, beach day, etc). It's great because I don't have to touch my face, and it also leaves a matte finish. I get very shiny/oily, and this cuts the shine. I brought it with me to Disneyland, and my boyfriend, brother, and my sister in laws used it, and everyone loved it. Saved us all from having sunburned faces after a full day in the sun. My boyfriend liked it so much, he bought a bottle to bring to work.
There are complaints about the burning/stinging. Yes, there is an initial burn/sting. You need to keep your eyes closed for a few seconds after you apply, and hold your breath because the alcohol smell is strong. But it only lasts a few seconds, and for me, is worth the convenience of having a sanitary way to reapply SPF over your makeup.
I did also experience the film feeling people mention. It hasn't stained any clothes it has gotten on, and the film isn't uncomfortable on my face. It did feel weird and sticky when I got some on my hands, but went away after I put lotion on my hands. Wasn't a deal breaker for me because, and I will still buy and use this.
The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the packaging. The lid becomes loose easily. I packed it in my makeup bag, and it became slightly loose, and about half the bottle leaked all over the inside of my makeup bag. I just make sure to check it's screwed tight after each use. Also not a fan of the glass bottle - heavier, and more prone to breaking.

I wanted to love this product but every time I used it throughout the day I got a reaction that caused my neck to be splotchy and itchy. But it's only on my neck and some parts of my face
Would not recommend!

I was so excited to try this because I was looking for a spray spf for awhile. But the smell is straight vodka and it burns. Do not buy!

I got my bottle of Coola in my Fab, Fit, Fun box. I used it for the first time when I went to an outdoor event in Florida in June. My makeup still looked good even though it was hot and humid and I had been sweating. I will purchase again.

I wanted to like this. It could be so convenient. It doesn't smell good and chokes you when you spray it on your face. I would suggest spraying it outdoors in the open air. Of that were the only problem I would still love it, because the smell goes away pretty quickly. However, it leaves an oily AND sticky residue on my skin that never soaks in or goes away. It's there until you wash it off. Too bad.
Good for oily skin

This is by far my favorite addition to my makeup routine. Wore this out in 80 degree heat and my makeup was fine. I have sensitive oily skin and this helped so much. And so far have had no crazy breakouts from it. There is a smell when you spray it but it goes away within a minute or two. Don't let that stop you from getting this.

This might actually be the worst product I have ever used. It's like spraying pure alcohol on your face. It immediately burns and the smell is overwhelming. It feels horrible on my skin. I have pretty dry skin as it is, but this my my skin feel even dryer and made it feel very tight and uncomfortable. Although my skin is not sensitive and is not acne prone, this product made me break out pretty bad after only one use that consisted of only 2 sprays on the face. I definitely do not suggest this product.

Not fond of the smell whatsoever. It leaves a weird feel to your face and any clothing it gets on. I've used almost half of it already because every time I spray it on it feels like there's not enough spraying on me. If you spray too close it clings to every piece of hair growing out of your face and turns them white. I'm going to finish the bottle but won't repurchase. Still on the hunt for a great spray sunscreen
Victorina from Boston
Definitely worth purchasing reapplied a few times through out the day because I was in the sun a lot. It smells like sunscreen but it like a water mist.
I love it

I love this product, I have a really oily acne prone skin and it works perfectly with setting my makeup and absorb the oils in my face throughout the day.. the only thing I have to say is the smell it's really strong but other than that it's a great product.

I love the finish and feeling of the setting spray. Definitely has a strong fragrance but that doesn't bug me if you have issues with fragrance I would steer clear otherwise 100 recommend!!

It honestly does work. I'm oily combo and I was not oily after wearing a full face of makeup which was my main concern. I gave it 4 stars because it really does smell bad BUT the smell does go away
Burns when applied and smells of alcohol

I was soo excited to try this! As soon as I sprayed my face I got the strong smell of Alcohol and then the burn sensation on my face. It made my face really dry and I could still feel the burning sensation after it dried. Will be returning.
Strong Smell, Burns Eyes
Erika from Sac, California
I like how this setting spray includes SPF. I recieved a sample of this in Ulta's specials and had already expired. For the product itself, it has a strong unpleasant smell. But more importantly, does it hold my makeup? Well after spraying, I opened my eyes and the spray is strong enough to make my eyes water so much that it felt it was burning. Obviously cant touch my face cause of my makeup. So I checked the mirror and I squint hard enough my mascara printed my under eye area. And it happens every time that I have to wait an extra minute to open my eyes after application. Glad it was only a sample, so I def will not recommend this and understand other reviewers about the smell. Its horrible and beats the purpose of a setting spray if it causes to mess up my makeup after applying.
