OG + HG highlighter!

This has been my secret weapon for over 26 years! I have been dabbing this magic potion on top of the angle of my cheekbones, the arch of my eyebrows, down the ridge of my nose, and the tiny bit leftover at the top of my lips since I was 16 years old. I'm not even sure how I got it — my makeup routi...ne consisted of the navy CoverGirl powder compact (some of y'all know exactly which one I mean 😉) on oily/shiny in a bad way spots and cherry Chapstick for the taste more than anything — so I likely inherited it from my older and oh-so-sophisticated sister… but once I tried it with no instructions or zero idea what I was doing, just thinking about where I wanted to HIGH BEAM on my face, and my first makeup love was born. That single 1-ish ounce bottle lasted me probably 2 years and I started to receive compliments about my FACE, which is bizarre when you think about it: hey, your parents' genes combined in a way that caused the structure of your face to attract me. Ummm… thanks? 🤔 Anyway, this was the highlighter before highlighters were cool or contouring was anywhere on the map, except in high-fashion, so keep that in mind, Ms. Highlight&Contour. Just a few tips I learned over my decades of use: • Always dab on the back of your hand or on a mirror before applying when applying over foundation. It will rearrange that carefully-placed base layer for you 😐 • When applying on bare skin, smear away! If applying over foundation, tap-tap-tap is best. • As it inevitably starts to get thicker as you get towards the bottom, squeeze in a couple drops of hyaluronic acid or really any clear serum and shake thoroughly. You'll be back in business! • If you are expecting the blinding, nearly wet-appearing highlighters of the last few years, look elsewhere. This is a nice, SUBTLE flush of pinky color and highlight — no glitter, either. • Check out Benefit's other liquid face/lip color choices like the OG lip/cheek stain Benetint. It's the perfect red-stained lip color for most skin tones. They have expanded that line with pinks, corals, and dusty reds. Just simple and beautiful. • I always stock up on sales (like now!) because there was a 3 month period several years ago when Benefit introduced some new powder cheek highlighters and an eye brightner and I couldn't find High Beam ANYWHERE, so I started freaking out. Not sure what that was about, but it's back like it never left with the same formula; only the bottle has ever changed with the addition of a little white plastic ruffle around the top, which actually makes it easier to grasp to screw off the top, so no issues.
