Q
what's the difference between using this and using exfoliating gloves or exfoliating cloths in the shower? I use either my gloves or cloth, both from Eco Tools, every time I shower. will this do anything different for me?
Asked by sleepingsunrise
Official Answer By EcoTools - Brand Engage
You sound like an Exfoliating Guru! I love it! :) It's a great question - since you're already using a product for exfoliating (the gloves), the Dry Brush probably won't make a huge amount of difference to what you're already doing, tbh. It's just a different kind of experience overall. But if you were just using a cloth or even just a pumice stone on your feet, I would definitely recommend it. However, all that being said, this brush is pretty special and pretty awesome overall. If you're at Ulta and find yourself with a few extra bucks that you don't mind parting with, pick one up - you may find a brand new fave! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can this be used for the dry brushing that helps with the lymphatic system?
Asked by Cathy
Official Answer By EcoTools - Brand Engage
Hi there ... what a great question! So, we aren't able to make any specific claims about the effect of dry brushing (with this brush) on one's lymphatic system, but if you do Dry Brushing as part of that process, this would be a great brush to use as it's specifically designed for both wet and dry use. Thanks! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Will a body dry brush help decrease ingrown hairs? Also -Will using regularly, twice weekly, help soft emerging hairs come thru skin, thus decreasing skin bumps?
Asked by Snowy04
Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Snowy04, Great question!! This brush is great for ingrown hairs, mainly by making sure than anything that would get into pores, etc is swept or brushed away. As far as softening hair coming through the skin - we've not done any specific testing for that particular type of claim. Overall, though, this product is amazing for exfoliating and keeping that skin looking vibrant and smooth. And that has to count for something, right?! :) Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
My waxer recommended getting and using a dry brush. Will using it once a week help with reducing ingrown hairs and help emerging hairs get thru? How will it improve skin appearance?

Q
should I use body oil , cocoa butter , or body butter after dry brushing ? what do you recommend as a moisturizer ?
Asked by jess
Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Jess, Great question. It kind of depends on how you want your skin to feel. After using the dry brush to exfoliate, my favorite kind of moisturizer to use is Body Butter. It moisturizes to the level I need, but doesn't leave shine or "stickiness"! :) Thanks! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hello, I was wondering, does this dry brush help with reducing the appearance of cellulite? I've been doing a lot of research and they say you should use a natural brush. Thank you
Asked by Infactuated1
Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Infactuated1, Great question!! As much as I wish I held the magic wand (or brush) to wave and cellulite will disappear, this won't take it all away; however, there have been studies shown that it reduces the appearance overall of cellulite. Plus, this is amazing for exfoliating and keeping that skin looking vibrant and smooth. And that has to count for something, right?! :) Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you

Q
How often should I dry brush a week?
Asked by Jess
Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Jess, On average, I would say 1x week. If you have problem areas (like, for me, my elbows): I usually concentrate on that area 2-3x until it smooths out. Thanks. Was this answer helpful to you

Q
How often should this brush be replaced and what's the best way to clean/disinfect it?
Asked by Megan
Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Megan, Great question - on average, we would recommend replacing the brush every 3-6 months, depending on the level of usage. I would recommend cleaning the bristles with our EcoTools makeup brush shampoo (it's for makeup brushes, but would also work with this bath brush). You can find that here: http://www.ulta.com/makeup-brush-cleansing-shampoo?productId=xlsImpprod13501085 Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Could the dry brush be used on sensitive skin face? If yes, in what motions would it be effective to slough off dead dry skin off the face?
Asked by Wendy
Verified Reply - Brand ExpertHi Wendy, Thanks for your question! This is such a great brush overall, but it's definitely meant for the skin on your body. The skin on your face is much more fragile, so you will want to look for products specifically made for the face. As far as product go, have you tried facial scrubs? They are wonderful for helping to rejuvenate your skin through exfoliation. There are also several facial cleansing options (including brushes) if you do a search for them on Ulta.com. I did a general search and these are the results it generated (http://www.ulta.com/ulta/a/_/Ntt-facial%20cleansing/Nty-1?Dy=1&ciSelector=searchResults). Hope that helps! Was this answer helpful to you

Not good for sensitive skin

I was so excited to get this because friends have raved about the benefits of dry skin brushing. Unfortunately, I have sensitive skin and the brush is just too scratchy. I tried using it in the shower with body wash but it was still too scratchy. I just can't use it for anything. I gave it 3 stars b...

Very exfoliating but brush handle splinters

Submitted 2 months ago

By Dev

From Salt Lake City, UT

Brush is alright overall, it is VERY abrasive ans a bit too rough it seems. But it will give you deep exfoliation. I have had issues with the bursh handle itself. It has given me multiple splinters when i try to hold it to brush my skin. It makes it hard to get a good grip and sucks to have to remove splinters from your hands right when you are about to shower

I typically buy the Elemis brand brush but didn't want to spend the money so I opted for this due to the great reviews. I don't know what I expected from a cheap alternative to what I usually buy but this dry brush is way too soft and does nothing for my dry skin but scratch it. I do not recommend it if you're already using a good quality dry brush. The bristles are flimsy and do not properly get the dry skin up from my body. I do not recommend this product.

Gets Rough & Bumpy Skin Baby Smooth (KP Skin)

Submitted 1 year ago

By KP Survivor

From Charlotte, NC

I have strawberry legs and typically only used the Tree Hut Scrubs. The scrub got me pretty smooth but I wanted more exfoliation. Im trying to get rid of my strawberry legs. I started using this dry brush on my entire body for 5 mins right before my shower. After I dry brush, I get in my shower and use my Treehut scrub, then use my regular body wash (Dr. Bronner's) and then finish my shower with my Naturium body wash (The Smoothener).. SMH .. this deadly combination is lethal. I honestly couldnt tell when I finished washing my body wash off because my skin was soooo smooth. I cant make this up! My husband cant keep his hands to himself! I will never be without this dry brush, tree hut scrub, and Naturium ever again. It is absolutely manadatory! 15/10 Recommend!
