I use the vitamin C serum in the morning along with the face cream moisturizer… Would I then use this product on top of that? I love your products and have used them for years.

Thanks for reaching out! You would apply the Sheer Tint Sun Serum as the last step in your routine. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hi, is this product unscented?

Thanks for reaching out! We do not add synthetic fragrance to our products, but the bulk natural ingredients can lend a subtle scent that dissipates quickly. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Would this product be used before or after moisturizer? Does this pair well with the SPF moisturizer?
Asked by Naomi
Official Answer By Mad Hippie
Thanks for reaching out! The Daily Protective Serum should be applied as the last step in your routine (you can follow with makeup, if wearing). We don't have an SPF moisturizer in our line. If you are referring to the Hydrating Facial SPF, we recommend choosing between the two, rather than layering, as they are both sunscreens. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hi! First, I'd like to say I've tried several of your products and loved them all. I bought the Sheer Tint Sun Serum and it is awesome, but I have run out, so I saw this product and wondered how they differ, other than the tint, and if one is preferable to the other. Can you advise me please? Thank you! 💜

Thanks for reaching out! The Sheer Tint Sun Serum and Daily Protective Serum have different formulations and SPF ratings. It may also help to note that the Daily Protective Serum is water resistant for up to 80 minutes, whereas the Sheer Tint Sun Serum is not water resistant. Both are great options for daily use, and choosing between them is more of a personal preference. Please let us know if we can assist further. :)Was this answer helpful to you
Q
*Will this serum mix well on top of my water based hyloronic acid serum I already use? What step should I use it?* After washing/toning my face I use a hyloronic water based serum for hydration. I tried the luminizing spf sunscreen you have on top as my last step, but unfortunatly it doesnt mix well with the serum I use before it. While applying the sunscreen to my face, it either causes my serum to peel up or its just not mixing well and causing little clumps of product to form on my skin. I was hoping to switch to a serum version since that works better for my skin. Im hoping this version will mix better with my other products!

Thanks for reaching out! All of our sunscreens are formulated to layer over other products in a skincare routine. We recommend waiting a few minutes between each step in your routine to ensure maximum efficacy and absorption of each product. It also helps to ensure each product is massaged well into skin before following with the next one. Pilling can also occur when too much product is used. The best. The end.

Sunscreen is THE most difficult skincare/cosmetic product to buy. It's a trial and error process, & can get expensive. I've tried just about every sunscreen out there, from high-end brands to drugstore buys & everything in between. Chemical sunscreen wears well, but has safety & environmental concer...

It is okay

I have a light skin tone with a regular/oily skin type. I do not have sensitive skin. I thought this serum felt too heavy on my skin and it didn't blend very well even with a beauty blender. It stays streaky. Wearing it makes me feel like my face isn't clean. However, you only need a little bit for ...

Perfection

Never can tell how ones skin is going to react to even the most popular products, but holy moly am I glad I decided to give this a chance. Just started my third bottle. I used La Roche Posay tinyed sunscreen previously, but this is worlds different. Have to work fast to get good distribution, but after a few seconds tapping a tiny bit more on top of any spots needing helps conceal. I use a very light layer of Ulta powder foundation after to set and Rude Cosmetics plump setting spray and let me just say its all survived monsoon rains, summer sweat and does not dry me out in winter so long as I remember to moisturize first.

Major skin rash/burn

I like Mad Hippie. But the first ingredient in this is new to me. I got a major neck rash/burn. It took days and days to go away. So painful. I must be allergic to this ingredient. So be careful.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Natural looking

Im in my 50's with normal to dry skin that doesn't like most foundations. My requirements for sunscreen are 15% zinc at least, no hormone altering or toxic chemicals including aluminum, and it cant be heavy and greasy. So finding a mineral spf that looks good is really tough. My skin rejects a lot of products too. But im so happy with this because it passes all of my requirements and it looks natural and has light coverage. Also a sunscreen has to have a minimum of 15% minerals in order to get a true 30 spf and this passes that test too. It truly is a good product. The light color matches me perfectly. I have a neutral undertone, green eyes, pretty fair skin and brown hair. Its also pretty affordable. Because this is so hood I irdered other products by them. People need to appreciate items that dont mess with your hormones. Thise things are in everything these days. In regards to the other review, It's possible to have allergic reactions to literally anything, so just because someone had a bad reaction doesn't mean its the products fault. There's nothing in it that can burn anyone. It's impossible. It's just an allergy. I use only Dior snd Chanel makeup and this is just as good for the days i want sunscreen and a no makeup look. It has some coverage and its not buildable. Its a sun tint.

Not my Go To

I like the key ingredients and the coverage is pretty good, but blending it in is not fun. It dries down pretty quick, looks patchy and all my texture is emphasized. It literally looks like a layer of product sitting on my face. The first few minutes there is a slight burning sensation but it goes away. My biggest CON is that it makes my skin feel tight and dry, even though I already have dry/combo skin. So I would maybe recommend this for someone with normal skin with no texture problems.

Loved the product but my skin did not

I love the way this looks and feels when I put it on. It looks good over or under makeup or just on it's own. Unfortunately it's not for me. After wearing, even though I wash it off before bed, I wake up with welts on my face, a problem I haven't really had before.
