Most Helpful Positive Review Heaven sent!
This was the most difficult thing I have purchased... The price was outrageous but hearing that it cut drying time in half sounded like the holy grail. I have very thick long hair that takes about 40 minutes to blow dry and another half hour to style (curl or straighten) I always am running late to events and never have time to dry my hair right. Conventional hair dryer always make me all sweaty because my hair holds heat like a fur coat. This sucks because it messes up my makeup or makes makeup hard to put on. This dryer dried my hair in 13 minutes! And it straightened it too! My sister saw me and asked me if I had gone to the stylist. She didn't believe it was just a blow dryer. It also doesn't make me turn into a sweaty mess!!! Definitely worth it!!! Have never written a review but had to for this!!
Most Helpful Critical Review So disappointing
I really wanted to love this dryer, after all....it cost a pretty penny and we have other wonderful Dyson products in our home. But alas, I was completely shell shocked. I used this dryer a few times, and with minimal product in my hair and although it dried it a little faster than I'm used to, my hair felt tacky and dried out, like straw - each and every time!! I have a lot of hair, and it is naturally curly and fine. I've been blow drying my hair straight for over 20 years and I've only ever used salon hair dryers, and have always had a perfect hair day blowout. My ol' faithful Solano hair dryer is still going strong after 10-12 years, so I'll stick with it. Like the good ol' saying, if it ain't broke, why fix it. I should have known better than to buy the 1st edition of this dryer, as I never buy a first edition anything, for obvious reasons. Sorry Dyson, but you'll have to go back to the drawing board on this one.

I have 2C, medium, low porosity hair and I never let it air dry unless I want to look like a bushy mess. With that being said, I've always used a blow dryer ever since 8th grade. I've always thought all dryers were made equal but I was completely wrong! I received this dryer for my birthday and used it the next day. When I say I literally stood in the mirror in shock, I am not exaggerating. I think I was shocked because it literally took 2 minutes vs the 10-12 it usually takes me. It was just SO fast. And then, the sleekness of my hair. Incredible. This dryer also made my hair style long lasting. Usually the next morning, I'll have to rewash my hair because my waves/curls have settled back into my hair. All I had to do was brush my hair out and it looks even better than the first day?! I'm in LOVE. This hair dryer is expensive, but if you're one to blow dry your hair multiple times a week, it's worth it. It cuts the time in half, gives better results, and I feel confident that my hair is taking on less damage. Treat yourself if you can.
Not worth the hype or money
KittyKat from Chicago Burbs
For me to write a review is highly unusual but this needs to be said. I really do not understand the hype of this dryer. My now deceased hairdryer (RIP) was wonderful and I had it for years to the point I cannot see any manufacturing marks. The Dyson has frizzed my hair even on lower settings and using the cool shot. They should stick to making vacuums. Save yourself some money and buy another brand. This dryer will be returned.
Died after 3 days!!!

Unbelievable. I bought this on Thursday. Today is Saturday…and it just died mid-blow dry.
I've never left a review on a product before, but buy this!

I have relatively healthy (though frizzy) virgin hair with low porosity, but it still takes at least 10 hours for my hair to air dry, or about 20 minutes of blow drying before I give up and let it air dry for the next few hours. I am not kidding when I say the Dyson dried my hair in five minutes, leaving my hair silky, voluminous, and frizz free. For reference, I have type 2A/2B fine hair with high density and low porosity. If your hair is anything like mine and you're struggling, do yourself a favor and let the Dyson take care of you.
Not worth it

First it started getting weaker after a few months and then just stopped working. Not even a year old.

Dyson is a very solid brand and company, so I know this hair dryer is made well. It is not supersonic quiet, but it is certainly a different sound that makes it tolerable and enjoyable to use. Hair dries very quickly as the dryer produces an amazing amount of blowing levels and the heat can be controlled very easily. The attachments change quickly and with ease due to the magnetic ends, but they stay on very firmly. Yes, this unit, the special edition is costly, but I strongly agree, you get what you pay for! Perfection and beauty. So glad I invested in this hair dryer!
Love this hair dryer 🥰

Love this hair dryer!! My hairs best-friend.

Love this hair dryer. It helps keep my hair from damage and breaking off. I have had it about 9 months. No problems at all. Not sure why anyone would have a problem with it. I have naturally curly hair. I use the attachments for curls and smoothing. Very good dryer. When it breaks I will buy another.

My hair stylist Ashley used this dyson hair dryer last time I went in. My hair is really thick & long. This hair dryer cut the drying time down to less than half the time!!! & no frizz! We were both impressed. Thank you
I love it even more than I thought I would!!

Works great with my extensions and dries them fast

I have naturally blonde curly hair that is thin and course. It can get dry fast. My hair stylist uses this in me and I have the best curls. I bought my own and had a learning curve but on the lowest settings it drys quickly without stripping out my curls. I also use the defuser, little heat protection, and gel and my routine is cut in half.

I'm not sure why this product even has negative reviews, and this is the response to a review that says it damaged her hair…. ANY HEAT In general damages hair. If you didn't want your hair damaged you shouldn't have used a blow dryer. At that this blow dryer has a higher heat setting than most blow dryer's. I have super curly hair, I also am recently strongly Into the curly girl method. I bought my blow dryer almost a year and a half ago, It definitely does what it's supposed to do. It definitely cut the drying time in half, I also have very thick hair. I don't use my blow dryer on high heat, and I alternate between no heat and low heat.
Hairdryer works but...

I LOVE THIS HAIR DRYER
Tamara from Arkansas
I have very thick hair and this dries my hair quicker than a regular hair dryer and my hair feels softer after using it.
This Product only works for certain hair types
Morgan from Trenton Mi
Please be careful when choosing this dryer as it will only work long term on healthy undamaged hair. I'm not sure where all these positive reviews come from but I hate mine. It only dries fast because it has a ton of airflow but that breaks your hair strands. I'm one of many people this blow dryer has done extreme hair damage to. Within a few uses my hair turns into lifeless straw with awful breakage. When I switch back to a cheap blow dryer this doesn't happen to my hair. My hairdresser has tried to use it on multiple occasions and hates it aswell. Please don't buy this product if you have white blonde hair like mine.

I could not be more in love with this hair dryer! My hair looks and feels amazing, the best it's ever looked. This product is worth every penny!
Broke a month and a half later
Cassie from Ma
So disappointed. I bought mine a little over a month ago and it already broke. I clean the filter regularly and I don't even use it everyday. I called dyson and the person just kept trying to sell me the professional one. Definitely not worth the money.
ldysinger from Fayetteville, NC
This was by far a great investment. I have gone through a ton of hair dryers and I always HAVE to straighten my hair to get the frizz out. With the Dyson hair dryer, i don't have to if I don't want to.
Nickie from pa
works amazing. fast daytime and love the attachments.
Great for my thick, long, coarse color treated hair
CJ from PNW
I was hesitant with the prince but I've spent that much combined on products and dryers and flat irons that have still left me with frizzy, not straight hair and a sore arm. This is the only dryer I have used on myself, at home that gives blowout quality and my hair is dry in 20 minutes. Unreal, I'll never buy anything else.
Broke in less than a year
Beth from Arizona
It just shut off intermittently in the middle of drying. Then wouldn't turn back on at all. I called Dyson expecting them to send me a new blow dryer. I stead, they expected me to bring it to some repair shop that's on the other side of town. And not open on weekends. This is too expensive to only last 10 months.
So far, so good!

I read a ton of reviews for this hairdryer before I purchased it. A lot. Of reviews. It's expensive, y'all. That was the only thing holding me back. My first use was this morning, and it dried this big ole mop of curly hair in about 6 minutes. Most of you with my type of hair probably understand that if left to air dry, I can still have wet hair hours later. To dry it in such a short time if quite a feat. In addition, I could hear what was going on around me. I will admit that immediately after using the Supersonic, my hair felt really dry, but now that I'm at work, it feels soft again. I can't wait to see how this continues to work on my hair. My husband was impressed by it too. I turned it on and aimed it at him and it blew his shorts up (literally, he was sitting in his recliner at the time). I'm really happy that it is working for me!
Made my hair frizzy and tangly

I have wanted this for years. Finally saved up and got it. It is terrible. Makes my hair sooo frizzy!
Loving Life from Michigan
I was very hesitant to spend this amount of money on a hair dryer. but I'm very glad my hubby talked me into it. It's unlike any other hair dryer I've ever used. Has three speed settings and three different heat settings. I found that I can dry my long thin strands, although I have a lot of them, in no time flat on the coolest setting. It leaves my hair smooth, soft and manageable. I love the pink color. I got mine in one of the special kits that had a round brush. I really like the brush and wish that Dyson sold just the brushes. I'm glad I saved up to be able to purchase this even though it is expensive. give it a try you won't be disappointed!!!
