Apply evenly to face nightly, after cleansing. Apply one pump of the product onto your fingertips, then spread evenly on the face and massage until completely absorbed. Can be used alone or followed by a moisturizer. Before using for the first time, you may need to prime the pump by pressing it down completely 5-6 times. Avoid the eye area and lips. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Store in a cool, dark place.
Precautions: Sunburn Alert, this product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

- Official Answer By CeraVe - BEHi Crystal! We recommend alternating between our Skin Renewing Nightly Exfoliating Treatment and Skin Renewing Retinol Serum on a nightly basis. For example, use our Skin Renewing Nightly Exfoliating Treatment Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun, and Skin Renewing Retinol Serum Tues, Thurs, Sat. Or using Skin Renewing Retinol Serum in the morning and Skin Renewing Nightly Exfoliating Treatment in the evening. Not for very sensitive skin or sensitive to smell

I wanted to love this so badly but the smell was horrible & my skin immediately started burning. I gave it 10 minutes and then had to rinse it off. I love all of my Cerave products - I only use them on my skin. But unfortunately this one wasn't for me. I do have very sensitive skin so I'm sure it's just that but I'd say this isn't for people like me.

I've been using Cerave products for years without incident. I recently purchased all the Cerave Skin Renewing product line. Used the Night Exfoliating Treatment for the first time followed by the night cream (which I've used before) and woke up this morning with a red itchy rash, like a sunburn, all over my face. . Should I be using the exfoliating treatment on its own?

I am 64 and have been using this product for 2 months…my skin is smoother and feels more healthy. I feel it keeps pores clear and no build up in nasal crease where I tend to get black heads occasionally …but not anymore. Love it!
Amazing, period.
I used this retinol about a year ago and I noticed my skin was at its peak! I usually have clear skin but this took it to another level - my skin was brighter, softer, clear, and plump! I intented to re-purchased earlier this year and accidentally got the other purple cerave retinol - which works fine, it just doesn't compare to this exfoliating one. One thing I will say is that it took about a week or two for my skin to adjust to it. I felt a slight burn the first few nights, so I would apply every other night for 1 week, then every night the next week and everything went smoothly after that. 11/10 recommend!

One the 3rd night of use, I woke up in the middle of the night with a horrendous burning rash on my face. Not sure if this product should actually be used nightly; perhaps every 3 days is more appropriate.
