Q
Can this product be used in combination with the System 6 Scalp & Hair Leave in Treatment?
Asked by anamn
Official Answer By Nioxin - Brand Engage
Yes it can. I would apply the Soothing serum first and the Scalp & Hair Treatment right after. Only use the scalp & hair treatment on a damp scalp and after shampooing. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
can I use this product alone?.. or do I need to use it with the shampoo & conditioner?.
Asked by Jen book worm
Official Answer By Nioxin - Brand Engage
Please know that it is recommended and works best to use all three products. However, you can get results using it as a standalone product. Many people use it and love it without adding the other products into their regimen. Give it a try and see what works for you. My dermatologist recommended this for scalp dermatitis in the early 1990's. For decades I have had my hair colored every 4 weeks (turned gray at 22) & I would get small flaky irritated spots, mostly around the hairline & temples. Using this serum a couple times a week would clear it up. Fast forward...

Describe Yourself Very dry, itchy scalp

Verified Buyer

I have used many products in the past with little to no relief. This product worked instantly and better than anything I have tried in the past. However, the product was a bit heavy on my hair. My scalp and ends are very dry but my roots have a tendency to get oily and this amplified that a bit. I would still recommend it as I have been so desperate for relief of my dry, itchy scalp.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I've different lines of Nioxin. I thought it was like a oil serum, but it is a lotion type serum. It's not greasy and a little goes a long way. My scalp is extremely dry and itchy to the point that it would scab up with sores. I will admit when I first got it, I didn't use it cuz it was extremely difficult to put on my scalp. But this past week, I started putting the serum on my finger and rub it on my scalp as if I'm piling my scalp and then massage my whole head and it's done wonders. Not one flake in site and it's going on over a week. Usually by day 2 of me washing my hair it's already showing signs of flake. I have jet black hair so you could see it really good. It is pricey but like I said, a little goes a long way and I don't use it everyday, maybe 2-3 times a week.

I have only been using this product for a week and I already see a huge difference. I have a lot of bumps on my head from eczema and I always pick at them and they would scab up...and the cycle would continue. I use this at night before I go to bed and shower the next morning and apply it again to my damp hair. It does not make my hair greasy once its blown dryed. My scalp bumps and sores are already starting to go away.

My sister and I have had very itchy and flaky scalps lately. We were recommended this product and it did nothing for us. The product seemed as if it was hard to get onto your scalp and rub it in. For me personally, I felt that I had to use A LOT to make it seem like it was going on the scalp. When it was in our scalps, it just was greasy due to the amount that needed to be put on. Very unhappy because I've heard such great things about it.
