You really could do either lighter than your skin tone, or the same as your skin tone. It just depends on if you would like the undereye to be highlighted, or more of your skin tone. Ive tried so many concealers and they all crease. Not this one! Im 42 and have little creases under my eyes and this concealer doesn't settle in them. I get a spray tan so I have this in my pale shade and my spray tan shade. My under eyes look flawless with this concealer. Im a customer for life.
