Preparing the puff is key: press the Velour Puff into the loose powder. Work the powder into the puff by folding and rubbing the halves together, then tap off any excess on back of hand. Gently press puff onto skin, using a rolling motion to "work" the powder in. Focus on the areas where makeup breaks down the most.
Pro Tip: Set cream complexion products before applying powder color products.

It's not the best for dark spots
I have very dark discoloration on my face from years of tanning. Wear Sunscreen! I have a hard time finding makeup that will cover or blur my dark spots. I've been using this product for a few weeks now, and I'm really impressed! The loose powder is super fine and doesn't feel cakey at all. It's helped keep my face from getting too oily in the humidity. Compared to other cheap brands and the Tarte one I currently have, I'd say this one feels more like a luxury item. It's a great gift! The only downside is that the puff it came with doesn't fit inside the container. I think the design team missed the mark with that part. It would have been a cute touch to make it big enough to fit the puff inside, like the old vintage ones

I've been testing this out for a few weeks and I'm loving it! I used to use the original Laura Mercier translucent powder but thought I'd try this new version. This one is 1000% better than the original. It truly blurs the skin and makes it look like I have no pores but at the same time feels so lightweight and doesn't look cakey. I find that this finish lasts all day, and I don't find myself getting oily or having have to reapply which is amazing. Highly recommend!!

I recently tried the Laura Mercier Indulgent Icons setting powder and have to say that this is one product I will continue to use because of how great it is. Note that while I received this product complimentary from BzzAgent, this review is one I'm writing voluntarily and is my own, individual option. With that said, in the past I've tried several setting sprays including one by Urban Decay just as an example. I wasn't really a fan because not only do I have sensitive skin but I've always felt like the setting sprays I've tried in the past make my face look too shiny or almost oily (even when it's not). As someone who is very particular about what makeup products I use, I'm super impressed by Laura Mercier's Ultra-Blur Translucent Powder & Puff. I like how I can control how much I'm putting on in addition to ensuring that it's spread evenly and the way I want it to. I love the fact that it's a powder not to mention the puff included is ideal and the only thing I'll use to put this product on. I will say that from a packaging standpoint it would be nice if there was some compartment where I could store the puff with the actual powder. Still, this is the least of my concern. The product keeps my makeup on, is great with my sensitive skin and I definitely recommend this to any family, friends or individuals looking for a new and better way to keep your makeup long lasting and looking gorgeous. I feel like I still maintain the natural look I'm going for but also know that my makeup is staying in place and not going anywhere which is what I'm looking for in a setting product.

I'm almost 40 and typically avoid loose powders because they always make me look so much older. I really thought this Laura Mercier powder would be the same but am thrilled it's not. I can finally set my foundation without looking dry, having a white overcast or settling into my fine lines. It's lightweight but provides great coverage, oil control in my t-zone, and really does melt into the skin. I did receive this product for free in exchange for my honest review but am so thankful I did. I found an amazing powder that I probably wouldn't have purchased for myself due to the price point but I truly believe it is worth every penny now. I'm utterly obsessed and will never use another powder going forward. Highly highly recommend!
