Very Matte!
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] My under eyes are usually very dark no matter how many hours of sleep I get. I was thrilled with this powder! I don't even use it with foundation. Don't need it!! Shade range is very extensive and it's a nice size for the price. Impressed.
Need to try again
I like the coverage that it's going for and I love the way that it blends. I think I should have went a shade. Darker is why it wasn't to my liking, but I will definitely, give it a second try.
It was a good match but it seems to oxidize
I like the variety of shades, the lightweight feel of the powder, and the ease of applying it. I tried several methods (kabuki brush, the sponge in the package and a denser sponge that I already had); using a denser makeup sponge seemed to work best if you need good coverage. Overall, it's a nice foundation, especially for someone like me who doesn't usually like wearing makeup other than lip gloss. The downside: it seems to oxidize on me. Some of the orange-y tone was due to me putting on a tinted moisturizer, but even when I skipped that and just used a photo finish style primer, it still seemed a little off color after a few hours. It could just be my oily T-Zone interacting with the makeup. I wish it had slightly more coverage, but it is buildable and felt good on my face. It gives a more natural look, which I liked. I ended up taking this back to Ulta and tried several other liquid foundations under $20 (as I'm now in my 40s and want to cover some dark spots and thought maybe liquid would offer more coverage). I took two home with me and they did not feel quite as pleasant as the Maybelline powder. The powder also looks more subtle and natural than liquid does, for those that just want lightweight makeup with light to medium coverage.
The perfect powder
I have been using this powder pretty much everyday now since I got it! I love the smooth finish it gives my skin and it pairs really well with my foundations. It also has a mirror so it great for on the go!
