If you are looking for a light or fast-absorbing moisturizer, this is NOT for you. But if you have dry spots and some time to let the gel absorb, it's amazing!! The first ingredient is mineral oil and you can definitely feel it.
I originally bought this hoping to moisturize my whole body but I realized it would be way too greasy. Instead, I use it all over my feet. My soles have been dry and flaky due to some recent life changes such as moving to a drier climate. I apply the Bio-Oil Gel after I shower. While waiting for it to absorb, I moisturize the rest of my body with a different moisturizer. It takes about 20-30 minutes for it to fully absorb on me but I almost never wait until it's fully absorbed - maybe 15 minutes tops before I start walking around. Despite that, it's been about a week since I started this routine and my feet are pretty much back to normal. I tried some other lotions and body butters before this, but they did not improve my soles. It comes in a small tub, but a little goes a long way.
The tub came with some product outside the container, around the lid behind the pull-off ring. Not a huge deal and implies a plus since it means they fill it to the absolute brim, but is a bit messy.
I love the gel! Absorbs and sinks in beautifully. I can even use it on my face which I couldn't with the liquid as it would slip around everywhere and would end up in my eyes. my skin is reactive to everything and will often break out in blisters, but this is powerfully moisturizing without being thick.works wonderful even in the summer heat doesn't melt and get gloopy and had been awesome rescuing my skin from lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons in the pool. also great in winter.
now the bad, the awful. oh gosh this packaging is terrible. it is a plastic pop top with a small bendable plastic bit connecting the top to the container. and when I say pop top, this pops...open anytime something touches it. it is nearly impossible to close correctly. while the gel product is typically way less messy than the liquid, if the packaging doesn't close it makes a mess. not helpful when I want to bring it anywhere especially to the pool. amazingly the product doesn't melt when in the sun or when I've left it in the car but I'm still trying to get the stain out of a shirt when it popped open in the car and leaked out.
still might reccomend product highly but makes use you have another container to put it in. I'm tempted not to buy it again for this reason.needs to be in a solid container with a screw on cap or an airless pump.

I bought this on a whim, my feet Have been super dry & my toes were itchy & it was driving me crazy. I tried this & my toes felt instantly better, soothed. They stayed moisturized for days after. Works so well. Great for night after shower or bath. It's a sick oily gel you can rub it in
But I like to leave a good amount on skin & cover with socks. Great for hands, elbows, knees & feet anywhere you're super dry.

I am like some others I've read on here where I have probably every single, high-end or not, product made for dry skin (on my face). Lately, my skin has been extra red and sensitive and I've been on the hunt for a new skincare routine. This just firmly planted itself there! I've had to change my face wash, moisturizers, serums, toners- you name it! I got this and I put it on at night since I wasn't sure at first how oily it might make my skin look (by the way, it really doesn't leave a greasy, oily look, just nicely hydrated). This in combination with the new face wash and couple of other products I've come across have been the rescue I needed. I'm no longer using anything I used to but my skin is going back to being like new again. I don't know if I'll ever not have skin like the Sahara if I ignore it for a day, but this routine of mine is promising and this gel feels SO good on my sensitive skin! This will never not be in my kit ever again.

This worked really well for my really dry spots! But know in advance this is not like a moisturizing cream this has a texture similar to Vaseline. It didn't cause me any breakouts or irritate my skin. Don't love the packaging but 100% does the job!

I'm from AL and I recently went to Az and NM for a trip to work on houses. This stuff saved my dry, overworked feet! I had everyone with me asking to use it. I layered my body with it every night and it saved my already dry skin!!

Omg I love this product! I've tired there other product but was okay but this one is one of my favorite products. I mostly use it for my cubby thighs cause it helps on not rubbing so much but it glides plus it moisturize 😍and that's what I've been looking for 💁🏽♀️. The reason I'm giving a four star is because we need a bigger bottle. I used like five already in this year so we need more product 🥲.

I've used so many different creams, lotions and oils for my dry skin. This product keeps my skin moisturized and soft for over 24 hrs and has a better texture than oils. I also like the mild exfoliants, helps reduces keratosis pilaris. It is a bit expensive for the amount you get, but I will purchase again.

I love the actual product. At first I thought I had bought just colored Vaseline however it is a dry skin Miracle. You don't need very much and it's very effective. I would say the sent smells like when you walk into the lush bath bomb store. However I continue to find tiny plastic particles in my product, sometimes it scratches my face and it's very annoying simply because I want to continue to use it.

Product is too greasy and don't like the smell

I discovered BioOil during pregnancy and loved the stuff, but didn't always want to put oil that leaves marks on clothing if you get dressed right after applying. Especially with all the satin trends right now. Good alternative and not as greasy. Pleasant mild scent that doesn't overwhelm. Leaves you buttery soft.

I have 2 forms of Lupus, so I battle dryness, and other skin complications year round.
I used to have an arsenal of high end face, and skin creams. Then, I discovered this product, which replaced them all. Now, it's the only thing I use on my face, and body. It's so hydrating, and soothes my sensitive skin. It's not greasy, or oily, and absorbs completely.
Thank you Bio-Oil !

Can not get enough of this stuff. My skin is so dry and this works wonders. Also, for all my acne prone people out there I've used this on my (very very dry) face and it doesn't break me out! (I have very sensitive and acne prone skin)

I started recently using this and absolutely love it for winter. It's lightweight enough but gives me that extra moisture my winter skin needs.

This winter season put my eczema in a frenzy. (To make matters worse I love warm, long showers & use a loofa.) So one night after that horrible combo, my eczema got so inflamed that I was nearly in tears. I lathered on my CeraVe and my Cetaphil, but it didn't calm my skin. As a hail mary, I grabbed this from my cabinet (had just come in the mail) and tried it out covering my irritated skin. I kid you not, within 5-10 minutes my skin had calmed down! This is seriously the best stuff & a lil goes a long way (However, if you have severe inflammation, lather it up!). My grandmother has extremely dry skin that flakes, as well as psoriasis, and she said this stuff is the only thing keeping her skin moisturized and reducing flaking!

Chose this as a free goody at work in our break room. I've struggled with bumpy knees and elbows ever since I was a child. Nothing has ever got rid of them. This doesn't completely eliminate the bumps, but it has significantly helped. This is a new favorite. I use it after I shower, might switch to everyday, but love it. It's hydrating, and this will last quite a while. Highly recommend!!

Love what this does for my skin. It does have a slightly medicinal smell but it fades.

I really did like this product. Use very sparingly as it goes along way. It took a minute to soak in but I think it was I used too much. It made my skin so soft and really took the "dry skin itches" away

When this was released, I had to jump on it. My 1yr old struggles with eczema pretty bad and it doesn't help that it's winter either. You definitely don't need to lather, just enough to cover the area. After applying, your hands does have that oily residue

I loved it .. it is so moisturizing! But mine came with shredded glass , like fiber glass I called the number on the back of the bottle to tell them said they would send me a new one and to return mine for inspection that was about 3 weeks ago . Be careful with this product !

I have been using a couple of weeks now and the dryness on my hands has gone away. As the instructions says a little goes a long way.

I use the Bio Oil Dry Skin Gel every night on my face and neck. I also use it on my hands to treat my eczema (note the photos). This gel is the panacea of skincare products. I used to use peptides like Matrixyl, but this gel actually works better at smoothing fine lines, treating and preventing acne breakouts, calming inflamed skin, and moisturizing skin. Also, while this product is not marketed to treat skincare problems like eczema, rosacea, and acne; I can personally attest that it treats all three of those conditions that I have experienced.

I've tried everything. I use moisturizing body wash, in shower lotion and use lotion after I shower and my skin is severely dry within a half an hour. Nothing works, nothing. I've heard Bio Oil is wonderful and wanted to try it. I saw this dry skin gel and figured why not? It says on the jar to use less than you normally would, but I ignored that. The reason it says to use less is because once it's on your skin, the gel melts. The amount I use is perfect for my skin. The crazy thing is that my skin is retaining the moisture longer. My skin is actually soft now throughout and at the end of the day. I've also noticed a scar has started to fade. I hope they never stop making this. After two days of using the dry skin gel, I bought another jar because I am always going to have this on hand. This is a miracle product for me and I've only been using it for a week.
